PCP?

Is that what you are thinking of? Or those bath salt which caused people to try and eat other people, alive.

Yeah, I think the drug I was thinking of is PCP. I hear it can make people hallucinate, be aggressive, and make them somehow stronger (dumping adrenaline into the body?) to the point where you could have like 5 or 6 or 7 police officers needed to wrestle someone to the ground.

He was climbing around and crawling around the ground. And naked. He very well could have been on PCP and the police officer might have suspected that, and if the man suddenly moved fast towards the officer, I don't blame him for opening fire. And he only shot twice, which says to me that he was only using enough force to nullify the threat. I think he just wanted to eliminate the threat, and unfortunately, those two bullets ended up killing the guy. But if it turns out he did PCP...well, if he never did PCP that day, he could be alive and well right now.

He was just trying to incapacitate him I think. The man just happened to die, though. But the man was deranged and dangerous, and charged a cop. The police officer had a right to fire if it meant saving his own life.

Could't use the Taser gun could he ?

Was there an alternative to using a firearm on him?

Curiously, why did he not use his taser on the guy? Deadly force is likely a bit excessive in this case, especially for a seven year cop veteran.

Tasers doesn't work that well on people that far gone.

Can't say I'm an expert as I've never had to deal with drug loaded naked men, but would the muscle contractions caused by the electricity at least disable him to the point that the cop could cuff him? Not trying to retort here, this is a serious question.

Yeah and those damned bath salts also cause the body temp to go sky-high and they strip themselves nude and cause trouble too. Watched a guy take two full taser hits and keep on fighting.

Seriously it doesn't magically drop someone every time.

https://youtu.be/avAH49NY_iY

End of the video shows a cop taking two hits and attacking still.

Other than a taser? I'm assuming not?

Well, if the man was on PCP, which is what I suspect, because it seems like he was...for him to prepare the tazer and aim it and successfully use it on the man...he might not have gotten it ready in time if the man charged him (police department said he charged)...so for one thing, he might not have been able to be quick enough to use the tazer...but if he was able to use the tazer, and the man was on PCP, would it eliminate the threat as well as two bullets fired, or would the man keep advancing towards the officer, even if struggling and hindered? I'm sure it was definitely quicker to grab the gun from his hip, aim, and fire.

I mean, if the guy was on PCP and the other cops/that one cop suspected it...you don't want to mess around with someone on that drug, especially if they are running at run, you know, charging you. There have been incidents lately where police used lethal force on black men that were questionable incidents at best, or incidents that we should (and are) downright angry about (like the Eric Garner case), but this instance...yeah, I'm unhappy with a lot of cops that make headlines these days, but I'm on this police officer's side...that man was probably a real danger to the police officer and others, the officer was, I think, justified in firing his gun, and...the poor guy probably has a spouse and probably even children, too. Let him preserve his life. I mean, if that guy was indeed on PCP...he should have never messed around with a drug like that.

It's obvious why the cop used his gun instead of his taser. He would've had to wait for the guy to come up close to use the taser. He didn't want a naked man's junk all up in his face. Shooting him from a distance was the only option. Duh!

Joking aside, this officer should have been able to tell in an instant that this man was either mentally ill or highly drugged. Not to mention it's impossible to conceal a weapon when you're not even wearing clothes or holding anything. The officer could've easily read the situation better. Especially since he's apparently a 7 year veteran. What excuse does he have for ignoring his 7 years of experience?

It was a naked unarmed man!!!

And the cop was armed with a taser too....

I mean.... If anything, the cop should have stunned his ass...

and he should go back for training.

Well, you can try and use your nightstick/baton, but once again, you are running into the problem that this dude isn't going to feel pain right. PCP can be used as a pain killer, so you have someone out of them mind, that can't feel pain.

Yeah, I just mean, didn't you post a youtube link with a video where a cop uses a tazer on someone and it doesn't stop them from attacking?
