I'm just saying.

Feel free to post your views about it. I was about to add additional questions but I stopped. I don't know how the thread would lead into.

$50-$100 is good enough for me, if not cheaper. I don't have any interest in expensive engagement rings because there's other places that money could go which are more important. Plus I doubt I would wear an engagement ring after getting a wedding ring, so no point going all out for something with such a limited lifespan.

I know some people love expensive engagement rings, but that's not my style at all.

A billion dollars!

I kid, I kid. It depends on what you can reasonably afford. There's no point in spending money you don't have on a ring. I'd be a cheap bride, though, since I would rather have a pearl engagement ring with diamond accents. I think huge diamonds are gaudy and prefer the look of pearls.

2 Months of what you can save. (Not what you earn, rent and bills are more important..)

so if you get 1500$ a month and 500$ rent, 500$ for living the month, its 1000$. If you have more spendings each month its less. Dont stress it by putting too much money for the engagement ring. I think she would want you financially stable much more than you struggleing for a year because you overspent on the engagement ring.

Also, if she loves you it wont even matter at all.

25 cents, like the ones from the machines. Call me the Fresh Prince of Welfare.

Just kidding. Maybe $1000?

You hear things like you've got to spend at least several months pay for a ring. It's insane.. $1000 maximum I'd say

I'm shocked that you would spend more on ten months of your anime subscription than on the symbol that ties the person you love and yourself together. $50 will buy you a nice plastic ring.

Eh, it would depend upon what I'm earning really, as a student it would be around £200-£400 but if I do well and manage to become a lawyer earning decent money it would be £600-900.

50 cents. They still have those fifty cent ring machines, right? Put in two quarters, turn the dial, out pops a ring in one of those pods.

No more than $100, and if I were ever to receive one, I wouldn't want it to cost more than that either. If I'm at a point where I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with someone, then I'd hope the connection between us is strong enough that it doesn't depend on overpriced bits of rock and metal. I'd rather spend that money on a gift that was more useful/enjoyable.

Cost is not as important as value. What does she like and what would look best on her and fit her style...

I'd probably spend $250-$400, and it would be silver, not gold, probably vintage, and have a beautiful non-diamond stone. Mostly because I like breaking norms, Still, it would be more about her. I'd like to say that if she liked diamonds and gold, I'd get it for her, but, laughably, I don't see myself with a woman who would like that sort of thing...

You're getting ripped off. I know machines like that that are only a quarter...
