I guess you could say that everyone who uses this site is an "Otaku" more or less, so I'd like to ask to CR community how you handle people who aren't into anime...

Let me explain what I mean, not everyone likes anime (unfortunately)... I even know some friends who hasn't watched it and who just thinks it's boring for whatever reason.

I'm actually really big into music, anime, video games and photography... And I've chosen to not say a thing about anime to some of my other group of friends (particularly the friends I have who are into music, they probably don't even know I like anime #derp).

So how do you handle diff groups/people in your life who doesn't like anime?]

Nope...

It may not be summer, but it's spring!

The question was how do you handle those types of people, some people who haven't watched anime even thinks people are weird for liking it... And I'm pretty sure those types of people wouldn't even watch 5 secs since it is animated/anime. Remember, the question wasn't how you make them like anime... The question was how you handle those types of people!

Personally one of my co-workers was a big zombie fan didn't like anime but I got him to watch Highschool of the Dead and he even ordered the bluray version from amazon. He even bought some other animes because he thought they were just kids shows and had no idea that there were plenty of adult titles "non-hentai" If my friends don't like anime I just try to find one that matches what they do like and we go from there. If they still don't like it then I tried but there are plenty of things we could do besides anime.

Most of my friends are off busy doing other things, the rare chance we hang out anymore, we generally do other things. Most of em have watched anime in the past but none of em go full on anime culture. None of us care what the other is doing in their hobbies most of the time. Except for one, which for whatever reason went on to become a bony , while i can't stand anything about MLP i don't judge him for liking it so. No reason to be ashamed of watching anime or even being a full on "otaku". If friends can't accept you for who you are, based on your hobbies sounds like they don't really want to be friends.

i don't talk about it

just like i dont' talk about my fav music irl, because everyone seems to be anti-pop, anti-mainstream these days... they always talk about artists i've never heard of...

Finally, I'm not the only one who can't stand MLP... People have been trying to get me into it for years and I just think that's a disgusting horse shit series that I want to burn on a stake, no hate for the people who like it!

Normally, I guess? Most of my friends aren't into anime. Despite our differing interests, it doesn't take away from our friendship. We just enjoy each other's company in general. It's pretty much that way with everyone I interact with.

I am the less and don't consider myself as an otaku.

Haha, I really don't like having friends. My only friends are my boyfriend and family, and they all know I like anime, and let me do my own thing. I prefer talking about anime online anyway. Conventions are a great yearly way for me to connect to other anime fans, though.
The people who liked anime in my high school were kind of overbearing to be around. They were kinda rude in an oblivious way, and obsessed over MLP. That doesn't mean they weren't nice people, they just weren't my type of crowd.

It depends on the person's other characteristics. I'm not "anime," so whether or not they like it has little influence in how I treat them. I prefer to wear big girl panties and search for other sources of common ground.

I have a kill la kill phone case. That is kind of a give away that I like anime. Not many have approached me about anime, but the ones that do always ask me "Why do you watch anime?"
The answer I always give is "Why do you watch anything?" (I am kind of implying its for entertainment)
