The title speaks for itself!

Discuss. :)

I'm one of those who tends to keep myself busy when dealing with a break up. Working extra hours at my job, putting extra time in my studies, power cleaning the house, walking the dog excessively. I make time to relax (as best as I can) by reading books and drinking tea, or gaming with some online friends on xbox. It seems I'm fine, as long as I can hang onto my momentum, but dropping my guard, so to speak, makes reality a bit hard to deal with, so I just do my best to not give in to the ice cream pints and boxes of chocolates that call out to my misery.

I gave up on relationships awhile back. My heart couldn't take it. I also gave up on alcohol awhile back. My liver couldn't take it. But back before those days, the answer to your question was always alcohol.

Sounds terrible, but....

Go out with friends and new potential partners, and drink alcohol.

Running helped me as well, but it's not as fun as drinking alcohol. Sometimes you don't want to be alone right after it happens, so you need people around rather than just yourself running alone.

well, your profile says your 15, so if that's actually the case, I don't think that's sad at all xD I didn't date anyone until I was nearly 17.

Well it seems to me like you're doing it just right so far. You do things you like, and, of course, that's good.

I lived with my ex so we had to cohabitate for some time after the breakup. Somehow when I was alone in the apartment I had no desire to do things I normally like, like watching anime, playing video games, painting, messing around with PCs, heck, even smoking cannabis. I stared at my pipe for like 20 minutes... Nope, just couldn't feel like it lol. So what did it for me was to go to friends. I managed to enjoy those things as usual when I was with them (plus most are not users so no descent into abuse ) So I spent as much time with them as I could. I also went for a meal with my parents more regularly. Sometimes i'd sleep over at a friend's place so i'd go from work straight from there the next morning, starting the day more positively.

So all in all i'd just say keep it up! ;)

I'd be careful with alcohol, you can test it out, but I get a feeling if you want to intoxicate yourself, cannabis is probably more suitable for the breakup blues...

Seems we're similar! I'm in a cohabitation situation at the moment. I'm not a huge drinker so I doubt I'll take that route, but I do partake where pot is concerned. I can understand the staring at the pipe thing - I did it too. I appreciate the positive vibes your message sends out!

I've never been in a long, serious relationship, but the one time that I was actually hurt from a break up, I fought my best friend. Mass wise, he was bigger and could fight better than me in general, so while I threw punches, he would just do some wrestling techniques. I didn't even start that lousy excuse of a fight, he did. Needless to say, I felt better after. True friend right there haha.

I was 15 then. Now, I'd probably just try to have fun with friends and maybe put some extra effort into hobbies or school.
