Isn't getting a suppressor for that MP5 a pain and expensive?
Also its semi-automatic right? I thought fully automatic firearms are illegal.
They aren't illegal, just extremely expensive which is why they are rarely if ever used in a crime. To get an actual assault rifle (a magazine fed rifle with selective fire), like an M16A4 for example. You would have to go through the ATF and pay a $200 tax stamp. It would take about 6 months for them to do a complete background check on you, then afterwards you can legally purchase an automatic rifle. Thing is, an M16 would cost you about $8,000 to $10,000 at a Class III dealer. If you have that kind of money to spend on one hunk of metal, you're lucky.

Nice piece OP, I bought one for my dad a few months ago and he likes it. Ended up giving it to my sister later on though cause she shot better with it than she did her Ruger LC9. He bought an old school Beretta M92fs for himself a few days later.

And it was only like 2 weeks later I realized I bought it cause I thought it looked cool in an anime I had once seen. When I first saw it I knew what the gun was but couldn't remember why I liked it... I just remembered why today.

Anime : Canaan
The Gun : Beretta PX4 Storm

Dunno I just found that funny.. so much of an otaku even my gun choices are influenced by anime.

*edit* In my defense... its a pretty sexy gun.

*edit 2* Shes got great trigger discipline

Please don't let anybody beside you touche it. It only takes a idiot or freak-accident for thing to go to hell.

I like guns unfortunately I just can't bring myself to put down any serious money on one object, one model that I cannot for the life of me find.
A sig p-210. The same one Madlax from "Madlax" used. The cheapest I found was 2200 but I just can't put that type of money down. I don't have any problems with any one who owns guns I know a old guy in town that has a huge collection he even gave me a blunderbuss and I shot it once and got hook on different types of pistols. Although I haven't fired it since have it hanging on my wall.
The other anime related guns that I want to buy are
SIG Sauer P239- Henrietta "Gunslinger Girl"
Beretta 92- Revy "Black Lagoon"

In my state fully automatic weapons are legal with a Fed Permit.I had to go down and check in with my local sheriff too.I own about 20 guns.If you're from a rural hunting state owning guns is a routine occurrence. It's sort of interesting to note that a lot of anime have ridiculous ideas about guns probably due to their scarcity in Japan. A 110 lb individual shooting a grenade launcher in one hand and a sawed off 12 gauge in the other.I'll stand way back and hold your coat..

Is it common to have so many firearms in house in the USA? I mean I personally know maybe 4 people who own a gun in the UK (mainly farmers with shotguns for the foxes) but that's out of a few hundred people. I understand that they are considerably more common on your side of the pond but i don't really have any sort of handle on how much. Would you say your arsenal is typical of an American household or are you more into guns than most?

I believe the statistics are that around half of U.S. households own one or more firearms, though ownership has some restrictions in some parts of the country like the state of California or major restrictions in the case of the Chicago metro area, New York state and Washington DC metro area. this makes the concentration a good bit higher than half in the rest of the states.

a few states (Alaska and Vermont) allow concealed carry of weapons to any citizen who is not a felon or has any sort of domestic misdemeanor charges filed against them . if you are a felon in the U.S. you have NO right to own a firearm

Well my PX4 is a .45 lol.. so yea.. its pretty damn loud. I always double up on hearing protection. Should hear the magnum users though...

Top: H&K MP5 A5 .22lr
Left: Beretta PX4 Storm .45
Right: Ruger SR 22

Warning: Images of real guns, if stuff like that bothers you do not open.

Nice! I don't own any .22s but I've been thinking about it since it's such a practical round. Anyway, here are mine:

I never even saw a gun until I was around 21 years old, and never knew anyone who had one growing up. They were frowned upon. Though that was in Illinois, so what state you're in really makes a difference. Now I'm elsewhere in the US and they are basically just like any other hobby. (safety and procedure is obviously taken extremely seriously, but a fun hobby nonetheless)

Please treat firearms with extreme respect. I agree with our right and responsibility to protect ourselves and I know that in this world, we should never allow governments to possess all the weaponry, just take a hard realistic look at Cuba and ask why so many Cubans now live in Florida, which has been happening for 80 years now.
There are numerous examples of governments slaughtering their people around the world, and NO, they are not religious but atheists, power hungry and totalitarian states, North Korea, China, Russia, Argentina, etc... Just study current news and not just the MIddle East.

However, Please, please, take owning a firearm seriously. Place the firearm in a lock cabinet and keep it out of reach of children AND don't go showing it off!!! It's not a toy. Don't treat it like a toy! It is a deadly weapon. Period.

ISIS doesn't just exist across the seas. Terrorists cells exist in the USA, too. However, do not treat self-defense and weapons as toys! Know what you are doing and why.

I'm not even sure why this post was ever posted but I consider it childish to have even started this post because as an adult, I don't seek someone else's approval nor do I need it to do what is right. If you don't understand the purpose of owning a deadly weapon, talk to your local police officers and then sell your weapon to a pawnshop or see if your local police officer will accept it from you. PERIOD! Deadly weapons are not toys. Self-defense and guarding the people whom you love is NOT a GAME! And should NOT be attempted by children or young teens but instead by responsible adults who are NOT seeking approval form fellow anime'ers.

So please be safe, take seriously what you are doing and if you need advice, TALK TO Responsible ADULTS and not Anime Kids.

God bless and be safe.

Statistically yeah but in reality, it depends where you live. I live in Seattle and I don't know anyone with a gun, some of my friends freaked out when they saw mine. Outside of King County (the Seattle area), they were fairly common. Not like when I lived in TX though, guns are a religion there. Basically, it depends where you live.
