I'm sure all you people still in school had to take the dreaded PARCC test (or whatever your state calls the common core test), but did you know you could opt out? Your parents can write or speak with the principle to refuse to let you take the test. This does have consequences that effect the school. These tests are what give the school funding. So should we opt out or no? Personally I think yes. Many parents have opted their kids out during these first rounds and it seems to increase with grade level. I'm a junior and I can see why many of us would not care. We have 1 more year of high school and we probably couldn't care less about the school plus we have to worry about our ACTs and SATs. Although I would prefer to not see my school fall I still would opt out because I think we can use this as a protest to ATLEAST bring the damn difficulty down or bring back the classic paper and pencil tests. It also takes nearly a week out of learning that I'd personally rather have. With so much negative feedback and kids opting out I doubt we'll see the same test the next coming years. Remember how seniors had to take them waaay back around fall? I can almost guarantee that they won't have seniors take them ever again since about 60% didn't even try on the test. What do you think about PARCC or state testing?
