Sorry for long post

So, there's been a kickstarter for an anime called the Devil's legacy for some time now https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/137939582/devils-legacy-the-animated-series and it got canceled a few days ago after them claiming to have received many death threats regarding their project.

However I think this is a bunch of bullcrap since the "comapny" behind the kickstarted began to claim that big anime critics like Gukkuk (theanimezone) and FightingforNippon (DoctorDazza) among other big youtube critics started to send the threats to them... And they didn't act like that before people started to criticize them...

One video from GoatJesus was also taken down because he said in his video that they took sounds from mirai nikki (future diary) and used it in their promotional video for their kickstarter campaign... But not only that, they also threatened to sue him because he claimed that, no joke!

Here's a video from FightingforNippon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kowQydd1PO4&feature=autoshare&ab_channel=FightingforNippon

I'm not trying to bash on them.

So, what do you think about this?

If they did steal the sound, they deserve to be called out on it.

Care to elaborate what you mean? Who is jelly on who? Big anime critics already got a massive following and so does this kickstarter

Yup just like day one and slaughtering grounds. I remember Total biscuit got a video taken down because of day one Gary's Incident.

So I'm not surprised. I'd just think they shouldn't be making stuff if they can't take criticism.

The critics. I mean what is the point of attacking a project that is not finished yet. Is like critic a paint that is not even on half.
They are jelly when seen a good project taking motion, They recall themselves to be "Professionals" when the true is that they aren't at all.

So much false and misleading information and errors on their Kickstarter page. They're practically asking for it.

Especially when they stated they're contacting big name voice actors and later post a reddit thread for auditions. That contradiction though.

I do have to say though, after finishing that video, I feel they do deserve what they got in the end.

I'd like to agree to disagree with you on that...

The animation studio claimed that they had people from Toei, production I.G among other big anime studios onboard... And they even blocked people on twitter for just asking for names of the people involved since new animation studios usually likes to brag about the people who joined them... They even blocked me when I asked who was involved and claimed that I had no respect for their work... All I did was ask for names, that's not disrespectful in any way. Also, of course people will be sceptic and show criticism when they claim such things as having known animators on board and when asked they return with threats of sueing people and claiming that people sent death threats to them...

Btw, this isn¨t entirely their work since as I and many others on twitter. pointed out..... They stole music from Mirai Nikki (future diary)

At the main moment in kickstarted we can identify between ally of foe, not even Crunchyroll when they advertised an Anime project (3 motnhs ago) in Crunchyroll homepage. Yes, is natural to critic the stuff that we are paying.
The main problem here (In my humble opinion) is that kickstarter (The system) lack of control and proper authenticity when inspecting projects,
For example any project involving more than 35k should be audited in person by KickStarer before charging the whole community their credit cards. The only time I had hear that KickStarted did stop a scam was with the false stalker sequel where they did credit found themselves for scam the community.

Maybe I wasn't clear in my original post. Sorry about that.

What has happened is that a company called Phoenix Angels Studios created a kickstarter campaign for a anime series called The Devil's legacy. Fine, there's no problem with that... But the Kickstarter didn't move up fast enough for them so they decided to start laying to people, their first lie was that they had people from animation studios like Toei working for them... And when asked about who from Toei that worked for them then they blocked those people and claimed they sent death threats. But it continued, they then stated that they would hire professional voice actors...... And then guess what they did.... They then posted a thread on riddit (of all places) where they looked for people who could do voice acting for free................. If you think that's a lot then they then said they would do original music work and this is where anime reviewers and critics came into the picture, because what they found out was that they're using music from Mirai Nikki (future diary) in their promotional work and when confronted with this then they started to take down videos on youtube, threatening to sue anime reviewers and critics for proving that they used Mirai Nikki's copyrighted work in their promotional material.

But then Phoenix Angels Studios went ape shit mode and started saying things like their families were in hospitals and bleh, bleh, bleh...

Did this help to explain the situation`?

Yea, I agree with you... Kickstarter really needs to improve! They do check every project that goes up on the site, however the people who are working on approving stuff really doesn't check the stuff they approve... I mean, they approved someone who wanted 100k just to shoot a PS4, they also approved a project where someone wanted to make a salad on a live stream... There are so many wierd kickstarter campaigns that really shouldn't have been made that still somehow get's made! :O
