I've vaped on & off for the last few years, mostly in an effort to give up the real thing - I've been a 30+ aday for 35 yrs & my Grandfather & Aunty both died of lung cancer, so I have more than a few good reasons to stop!! In Australia smoking is incredibly expensive, at present a pack of 25 costs $25, most of which is tax!! Smokers have been treated as such a pariah, that we are subjected to a 6 monthly price-rise & are not supposed to voice any complaint about it! The government uses the logic that the tax will pay the medical costs created by smoking, & yet there is no such equivalent tax on alcohol which is indicated in 89% of hospital admissions here; and when I ask for assistance to give up, they will only subsidise the effective medication once every 12 months - although everyone knows it takes more than one go to give up!! I don't think they really want us to give up - where else can they get such a huge windfall without any serious complaints??!!
So I tried vaping. But that isn't easy here either. It is illegal to bring nicotine into the country, so you have to worry about that whenever you buy anything (it is also illegal to sell it within Australia). Then, after the government caught on that people were vaping instead of smoking, they extended the non-smoking laws to cover ANY substance, including vaping, regardless of whether nicotine was included in the mix. So now there is no vaping indoors, which is fine as I'm used to it from being a smoker, or at outdoor bus/train stops - even if the other passengers are breathing in the fumes from the 8 lane highway they are waiting on!! None of this is helped by the current hysteria that has been stirred up by the lack of research available on vaping use!!
SO, does anyone wonder why I am convinced the Australian government would be happier if smokers never gave up?!!

Vaping got me off of smoking regular cigs. My smokers cough cleared up, my stamina is better, and trying new flavors is pretty fun, but I mostly enjoy it for the strong throat hits I can get with certain liquids.

It's like, super hardcore dangerous life threatening stuff guys.

Though in honestly most of the paranoia about them is based on a complete ignorance and blind stigma. Those people are idiots, and it's sad to say that includes many legislators. The biggest risk that I'm aware of that seems possibly credible is that inhaling vapor may make the throat/lungs more susceptible to common bacteria that may cause colds, sinus infections, etc.

Yea that's pretty BS. From the sounds of it people aren't even allowed 0-nicotine vapes, which is very ridiculous. In the states here, there's a lot of debate over it, but in some local counties they have outlawed it in public. Seriously though, most doctors encourage vaping, why does it seem that the lawmakers completely ignore everyone who has the most intimate knowledge/expertise on the product or substance? Because big tobacco wants to buy into the vape market to overrun the enthusiast/mod market where the quality products come from by mass marketing their super cheap vape products.

I read about some research done on vaping and several sources say that although most of the toxins from combustion are absent in vapor, the size if the particles in the vapor is smaller than that of the particles in tobacco smoke. This supposedly means potential risks of the vapor particles making their way deeper into lung tissue and clogging up smaller capillaries and sacs in the lungs.

The general consensus is that it is not as bad as smoking but is still not harmless.

I did notice the effects you mentioned, though. Vaping doesn't worsen my breathing like tobacco smoke does. I also notice much less of a craving when vaping, wheras cigs sometimes make you feel like using more and more. Not sure why that is, since vaping is tastier and funner for me.

Hi all, right now, I vape on a IPV-v2 with a Infinite CLTv2. My top 3 e liquids are eGenerations' Honeydew Cotton Candy, Time Bomb's Heathen, and Blueprint's A-Train, in case anyone is interested.

I used to smoke Marlboro Reds and Canadian Classics.. Then I discovered vaping.
I started with small cig-a-likes to mid-size vape pens and now...

Eleaf iStick 30W with KangerTech Subtank Mini

I still haven't found the perfect e-juice that imitates a real cigarette flavor..
I have tried over 30 flavors (mostly tobacco-flavored) already and still counting.

So I still smoke those disgusting things from time to time.. especially after a good meal.
It's so satisfying! then you feel sad and guilty afterwards. WHY?!?!

I used to smoke reds too. Haha cowboy killers. Glad I quit.

I have a tiny drip with a small reservoir. Eventually I want to not use that either. The juices are pretty yummy.
