I prefer to change my phone every year because I use it so much so I prefer to have the latest iPhone so it can perform at its best.

I change mine about every 2 years. I have a contract anyway. It kind of sucks having the phone become outdated, but if I take good care of it, it will be in good condition and not really need an upgrade for a while.

I have a crappy prepaid phone. I don't care to upgrade, and I want to throw it away. I do not like phones.

Upgrading an Samsung Ativ S Windows Phone 8 from 2012 well is kind of survivor.

The only problem is getting a new screen protector and case if the new phone is different size even slightly than the other one was. And for something like an anime case thats hard to find that can be a royal pain to do. Generally i usually wait on the last years model or 2 years before that model. Buying a new phone even discounted is too expensive every 2 years. With any luck my next one will be good for more than 2 years.

I use my phones until something problematic arises that will cost me more to fix than to upgrade. Even when my contract is eligible to upgrade, I don't always go use it right away. I just find it to be such a hassle. That being said, I'm not very rough with my electronics and I try to be careful with my charge socket and avoid over-charging my phone, so I avoid the most common issues of dying batteries and loose charge ports (from experience, mind you).

I'd like to, but I usually end up using a phone until it breaks. I still have an iPhone 4s from 2011.

Every two years when it's time to upgrade or renew my contract. It's also expensive to switch phones quite often.

Nope, I've been using the same basic phone for the last 5 or 6 years and it's still good as new. Switched to a smartphone before and didn't like it so I'm sticking with this one until its battery starts dying.

Nah, all I use it for is (rarely) texting friends, slight usage of social media, and to check sports stuff. My outdated 4s is good enough for me.
