I'm not terrified of heights in general, I even climbed up a rusty ire escape ladder on the place my brother was staying to open the door through the window(his roommate was locked out and he was sleep ).One thing I am wary of concerning heights is railings. I'm 6'4" and every time I'm at a museum, I feel like ill fall off if I lean on a railing. They are typically so short in comparison to my height.

Acrophobia... I managed to get a handle on it when I was a warehouseman... riding a reach-truck 15 to 20 feet in the air will either cure you or drive you nuts. Having a safety harness and something to hang on to helped. Ladders still mess me up pretty bad when they're the 20+ foot variety. Tall buildings don't bother me and abutments over dams and outcroppings are good for me unless there isn't a wall or railing around.

I think I get a twinge of claustrophobia but I'm not very often in confined spaces.

I'm not sure if any of my fears are strong enough to be considered phobias. Heights, rejection, failure, and to an extent, drowning.

Depending on the situation... large groups of people. It's weird because I don't get nervous with the crowds at concerts but going out for lunch with my co-workers or seeing them at happy hour brings out all of my social anxiety.

I definitely have arachnophobia due to a traumatic experience I had as a really young child.

Note I was 6 at the time, so some things may be exaggerated, but not on purpose.

My house has an underground basement, and as with most basements, it's completely overrun by the horrible creature we call "spiders." Nowadays this issue has been resolved with my brother living down there, but back then it was just an old badly painted concrete floor and wooden walls.

On that fateful day, it just so happened that I was searching for my elusive copy of "Pokémon Leaf Green," which I had managed to lose at least 4 times in a year. Unable to find it anywhere else in my house, I decided that I would venture in to the darkness that was my basement in hopes of escaping with high-level loot. So, at about 6:30 PM in the summer, I crept down the only exit and entrance into the underworld, which was a 20 step set of unfurnished stairs. Each step was taken with a flash of fear launching through my young brain, and I eventually broke under the pressure and raced to the bottom. Relief set upon me as I realized I had accomplished my goal, and the risk of being attacked by a beast was much decreased.

After searching for a minute in the sideroom, I lost my nerve and turned to race back up the stairs. That's when I saw them. Three gigantic spiders the size of my hand, staring at me with their beady eyes, resting at evenly placed intervals on the stairs. I gasped in fear.
Still in shock, I backed towards the main room and reached for the lights. Flick. Flick. They were all burnt out. In an intense panic now, I started yelling for my parents, only to realize that they were cleaning the property, with my dad outside mowing the lawn and my mother vacuuming the middle floor. I yelled again. No response. The tears started flowing down my face, and the greatest fear I had ever experienced was setting in.

I continued yelling for about 10 minutes, when I heard the vacuum turn off. "Cellf?" I heard my mother call. A ray of light shined down upon me. I screamed at the top of my lungs. Silence reigned for several moments. Then my window of opportunity closed as I heard the vacuum start back up. My fear had progressed to, what I call, complete and utter horror. I sat there in fear for 30 more minutes, with darkness behind me and a cruel obstacle in front of me, blocking me from reaching my goal. Eventually, I heard the vacuum turn off again. My mom realized how peculiar it was that she hadn't heard me for the past 40 minutes, and started actively searching for me, eventually coming within earshot of my frantic and pained shrieks. I saw her waiting at the top of the stairs. "Cellf? Why are you down there?" she asked. "MOM THERE'S SPIDERS HELP KILL THEM." I replied. "Oh, that's simply nonsense" she tutted "They're just the harmless ones." She proceeded then to take her first step down the staircase of hell. That's when she saw them. "I'll go get dad" she whispered, her face white as the moon (My mom absolutely hated spiders too, so she was probably like freaking out.)

My father then came downstairs and murdered them all with a broom.

To this day I always check the stair I'm about to step on. It may not seem like much, but as a child, this completely traumatized me.

The End

Bugs and arachnids freak me out. A lot. I'm joining the military soon, and I still have to get my brother to kill those damn things for me. A soldier/marine's worst enemy: the camel spider. Those things are f***ing disgusting.

Arachnophobia!!! Well, I don't really think I have an actual phobia. I just hate spiders, I'm not scared of them or anything. They're disgusting and annoying.

Especially since I have one or more thumbnail sized spiders living within my car. I can clearly see their spiderwebs! And I've killed a few already that were just on the exterior of the car.

I have claustrophobia, my mind blow up when i have to cross small places. And i think that i have photophobia, i cannot stay in sunlight or expose to bright lights. They don't have great influence in my life, just keep black eyeglasses and stay away from great adventures.

Terrified of spiders. To the point where if I see one in my room and kill it, I will still sleep in the living room. No matter how big or small. I'm also scared of crossing the road lol
