I compared the prices for gifting memberships and buying directly, gifting looks more expensive.

I suppose I'll be the one to clarify.

Currently we do not have gift memberships in the 3 and 12 month increments for US users. Apologies for the confusion and inconvenience.

And if you ask why, my answer is that I was told to by the uppers. :|

3 months ago I gifted a 3 month membership just fine and im in the US. What the heck changed in the last 3 months to make it unavailable to the US? Ive been a faithful CR member for 7 years now. Can something be done to bring the gift memberships back the way it was just 3 months ago? Is there someone I can call to get this figured out?

I'll talk to them! But I think it's important to contact [email protected] so that they can keep track of the volume of people!

I will tell them as well but if our Customer Support Team has a log of many people requesting it then it'll be a lot easier to push!

Well I sent them an email. Hopefully this can get fixed. I dont understand why they would do something like this. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Unless I'm mistaken, you got a discount for buying a 3- or 12-month subscription, over buying month to month. I don't see how discontinuing those options doesn't make sense from a pure revenue perspective.

I can tell you that we are not doing it to increase profits. The underlying issue is already being worked on, but I can't give you an ETA regarding the fix or an explanation of why we're currently disabling them. Discounts on a regular recurring membership with a 3 month or 12 month interval are the same as for the gift memberships, so users buying it for themselves still have the same pricing available to them.

Sorry for causing you any inconvenience for the time being.

Does this mean that they are available for users outside the US? If so, which locations?

This is the DUMBEST policy EVER!!!! The WHOLE point of CR is to bring LEGIT anime to the USA for us to watch and pay for LEGALLY! So, upper management says ONLY monthly memberships, is this to nickle and dime us? I wanted to buy 4 of my nephews gift memberships so they can enjoy CR for MORE than M2M membership. Thanks to the IDIOTS who run this company, you just love 4 new members who would probably renew and tell their friends about it, heck even get their parents to buy them gift memberships. DUMB!

If this is a problem you should be fixing it or put a banner or some notification to US members that you cannot buy a 3 or 12 month gift membership. You guys just lost my business.

You can still set up accounts for your nephews with your payment method and disable automatic renewal. Your best option for that is getting the subscriptions via Paypal, as you can control the renewal from within your Paypal account and every change on our website requires re-authentification.

cant buy it with prepaid cards so any to young to have cc will be out of luck

any idea when this might get fixed?
