I don't dislike it, but it's a copy of the daily show, which john stewart may be the person known for it, but I remember Craig Kilborn doing it. And that is kind of a riff on the various late night TV hosts, probably most notably though to me, the works of Dennis Miller.

It's kinda tired.... Especially considering a lot of people get their news primarily from shows like this (if they aren't getting their news from a republican spin show), and it's extremely depressing when you are already aware of a lot of the problems that they discuss.

I don't always agree with the Dennis Miller point of view, and it's also dated..
Just listen to the format....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWApycWq7ok
and here's one of JS appearing on his show back in 1995.(20 years ago) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=217d3pl5sXE
(he has appeared on Dennis's show apparently many, many times...)

I like his show, though I don't really find him funny, more educational with some jokes thrown in is how I've come to view his show.

Though I don't agree with him on everything.

I watch every week, I honestly think I've learned more from that show than I ever did watching CNN and FOX.

John Stewart found John Oliver and invited him to the states and offered him work. Thats why its similar to the Daily Show. With JS retiring, and Colbert moving to late night, it was a good move to keep this type of show alive and relevant as the format is watched and loved by many.

Kind of sad really when comedians are doing better investigative journalism than so called journalists.
Yes, always watch his stuff on YouTube.

Back when I saw this thread I had no idea who John Oliver was, but now I can't get enough. I love his show and am trying to currently watch all his videos on YouTube. I find him hilarious and I have learned more from him than any actual news source.
