Ugh. Maybe I'm just too old school but I completely dislike the fighting style. If I wanted to play games with that type of style then I would play action games. I feel like it's a real let down. I was really digging the turn base fighting style. It gave me time to think and pick what I wanted to do. With this type, though, I constantly forget what button is for what when I'm fighting. It's just not fun. Type-0 I can totally handle because it seems like a way more smooth system of fighting than XV's. The whole demo just feels too much like an action game than an RPG.

I thought it was using the same play style as FF12/Kingdom Hearts?
Though, it probably has a different battle system than other Final Fantasies since it was originally a spin-off.
(The Final Fantasy formerly known as Versus XIII)

Though, after years of playing Final Fantasy games I felt little connection with or had little interest in (since FF10) I'm actually looking forward to this game... I just hope it doesn't bomb since I've been looking forward to it since its first teaser trailer that came out 8 years ago....

It's somewhat different from KH, but very similar in terms of the battle system.

Ah. I've never played KH so I wouldn't know. But I feel super late because I had no idea there was a trailer that came out 8 years ago, lol. Goodnesssss. I don't know, I guess I could give it some more of a chance. I'm always speedy to judge something once I find an aspect about it I dislike. T~T

I finished the demo yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed what Hajime Tabata has in store for us in the coming months when he completes and releases the final version of this game. Technical issues aside I enjoy what square enix is trying to do and I feel people are being harsh in terms of the cast of characters so far which is only a glimpse of things to come. Tabata or Nomura from what I understood at least is trying to portray the brotherhood found in the yakuza for example and give a taste of that in the game via Noctis' friends/party members. I mean yes it may seem very "boy-bandish" or whatever you want to call it but you have to give square-enix points for somewhat attempting new things in their software from gameplay, graphics (as we all know this is biblical for them at this point), characterization, and story telling (though it hasn't always been their strong suit recently) even though they haven't always gotten it right. I think we should all just take the game as a grain of salt when it releases and only after finishing it completely can we as consumers complain about whether our 60 dollars plus tax was a waste or not in terms of exposition or technical issues otherwise. Preconceptions will only hurt us in terms of our enjoyment, but to each their own as everyone experiences or has their own preferences in what they want and expect out of a game as massive as this one will be once it releases.

For being in development for a decade this better be the best things since sliced bread.
I hope so too, it's rare for a game that's been worked on for so long to be any good. Too Human and Duke Nukem Forever anyone?

If you get it skip the tutorial cause you'll never finish it. I just find my self constanly pushing attack til whatever dies. Usually its the best way to kill something.

Very short demo in my opinion.
