Episode 5

Their musical has been decided, and it's a story about a prince who chose to become king over following the journey of his dreams. But unlike with that person, the boys are going full speed ahead with their dream. Hoshitani has a lot of work to do seeing that his body doesn't have the right build to pull off those complicated dance moves, but his motivation is there. So he has been named the team leader, and it's off to practice. It's good to see the characters coming together like that seeing that there were all sorts of conflict and other shit going on that peaked when they had that fight with Team Hiragi, but in the end they are finally supporting each other as teammates.

Episode 5

Team Hiragi is no joke!!

I feel like this episode was good characterization for Hoshitani. Seeing him struggle, lamenting over it, and getting better was a nice touch that I enjoyed. Using Team Hiragi's performance as a showcase to what the star teams have to look forward to was nice as well. The episode was also a friendship or "We can get through this together" kind of feel due to our five protagonists coming together, practicing hard, and sticking with each other and I am a sucker for that kind of theme. Looking forward to next week's episode!

This show has quite a weird pacing. Slow as heck this week but it's more of a buildup so whatever. The prince story allusion seemed somewhat interesting to me along with this ending:

I haven't posted in here before but I just wanted to say that I have been enjoying this more than I thought I would. I haven't really seen any idol anime before except for a couple of episodes of Love Live! School Idol Project, which I still haven't finished. I think that this anime interests me more because it has cute guys singing instead of cute girls. A lot of my favorite VAs are in Star Mu and I love the songs. The characters are also really cute. I can't wait for the next episode.

Episode 6

And it's now time for the first screening performance where only ten teams make the cut, and things are looking pretty bleak for Team Otori seeing that their costumes are in pretty bad shape and everybody is talking trash about them. But in comes Nayuki's twin sisters to not only fix up those torn costumes, but transform them into something else completely. It's a good thing they are going last because their costumes were late. Then it's onto the performance where it is Ayanagi Showtime, but a much different version with the required choreography, but rearranged in a way that still conforms to the rules. Sorry Akatsuki, but there's nothing in the rules that says that the performance is in violation of the rules. Hoshitani nearly blows it by stumbling there, but his teammates picked him up. In the end, they placed 8th and won lots of fans. That was pretty nice seeing things come together like that. I saw that stumble coming, but in a way where it doesn't cause the performance to crash.

Episode 6

Beware of the Nayuki tea!!

So, this episode was full of fun and joy, so I really enjoyed it a lot. The comedy bit with the Nayuki twins was pretty funny and they reminded me of the Orihara twins from Durarara! Looks like the pressure is on with the upcoming performance and with their uniforms being late, the pressure doesn't lower either. Despite that, their uniforms arrive and after drinking the Nayuki tea of death, Team Otori puts on one heck of a performance! I like the uniforms they have; it is flashy and suits this series well. The performance was something else as well. I was really excited since I know this series is all about dancing and singing, so I was waiting for some performance-like display or a dance competition. Looks like Team Otori made it in, but Akatsuki seems to be salty about it. Hmmm... The reveal at the end was interesting as well. I am hoping for more dance competitions and reveals later down the road. Looking forward to next week!

Great episode and I didn't realize how different the choreography was going to be compared to all the other performers. Not only was the routine different the costumes already gave each individual a sense of each owns style compared to vanilla of the other traditional performers.
Team Otori all the way I have never been a fan of judging an art form because of political bs this show seems to get whats up looking forward to more performances love how it wasn't dragged into another episode also good pacing.

Episode 7

Beware the bear....and expensive heirloom vases!

The slice of life in this episode is so real with Team Otori traveling up to the mountains for some training and fun. I believe they run into Team Hiragi, who is also there for training. The musical performance was colorful, flash, and fun with it being visually appealing! The rest of the episode was just comedy moments, which were enjoyable. I also enjoyed the motivation or development Hoshitani got as a leader, so that was nice. Chill episode this week, so i'm looking forward to the next one!

Heh, the guys are all scared.

I think there's like an correlation between that music video about the bears and the actual bears that came at the end. Meh, didn't like this episode much except the music video part. The drama felt too silly with the broken vase.

This episode was good character and team building. I like to see the brothers/instructors remember their past. Not sure how many families have a mansion that nobody hardly uses pretty cool

Episode 7

Off to the mountains Team Otori goes to train for the upcoming freestyle musical competition, and they happen to be training together with their biggest rivals, Team Hiragi. It turns out that Otori's family is a branch of Hiragi's family, so it's no wonder they are connected so much. Bears are everywhere, but that wasn't a bear in the storehouse, and neither was there a bear breaking the vase. It turns out that was a really expensive vase, but Otori was able to trick them into believing that they broke a worthless knockoff. That was pretty nice to see that these two teams are starting to get along with each other, and for Hoshitani to have the motivation to pursue his dream, as well as get some laughs about the situation.

Episode 8

Stardust Musical? I like the sound of that!

It looks like it's time for the grand festival, and so, we see Team Otori planning what musical they want to do and all of that. There is also some shadiness going down concerning taking down Otori for the tradition of the academy. Hmm.. The comedy moment with the rock-paper-scissors bit was funny and the musical at the end was enjoyable as well.

It's all going down next week, so I am looking forward to seeing the performances next week!

Episode 8

It's time to make plans for the Ayanagi Festival that will decide which team makes it into the musical department, and first the venue and time is decided. Either they go to the big concert hall, the small concert hall, or the outdoor stage, and Team Otori wants to perform in the late time slot in the big concert hall, and so does Team Hiragi. So with rock, paper, scissors they decide it and Team Hiragi wins, and Team Otori instead performs in the early time slot in the big concert hall. With traditions at Ayanagi at stake that there's so much backlash with the council, all while Team Otori has trouble deciding what they want to do. But it all comes together where they become Stardust, and as for Team Otori, the president is about to make his decision after some thinking. That's a solid episode there that goes to show that there are some traditions that are meant to be broken, all while Team Otori is about to perform in front of a large crowd.

They should use more piano theme music for the performances. Those are getting rarer.

Lol, the face:
