Note that this worked on my Nexus 10, running Android 5.0.1. You milage may vary from device to device.

Earlier today, I made a thread (http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-893377/app-crash-on-playback) detailing how I couldn't get the app to work at all, usually ending with it breaking.

Well, I found one solution that works. Install Tunnelbear (or any similar VPN service) and run the app through that! Not sure how, but the app no longer crashes and videos actually load.

The only issue is that the VPN service DOES cost money. The free version caps you at 1.5gb a month, and you need to hand over £5 a month to remove it. But if you don't mind eating that cost, or if you're confident you won't run over that limit, you should be sorted.

I hope this helps!

Note that using a VPN is technically a violation of the /ToS, even if the purpose isn't to bypass region lockouts.

I would hope CR would take intent into account. After all, it is also a technical violation to have more than one account, but they haven't had any problem with people who got their account hijacked creating a second one to post in the forum for help when the normal customer service contact method doesn't bring a quick response.
