Episode 1 is now up. There was no countdown timer, but it arrived on-time.

Episode 1

That was pretty meh there. Just a bunch of stuff happening where the students are in a class belonging to a corporation, and then there's supposed to be a transfer student coming who is kidnapped. And Iris goes on a rescue mission jettisoning some expensive boosters and crash landing at the hideout only to find out that the student was able to save himself with the end result being that the rescue mission costs more than the ransom, and Nagisa is none too pleased about. I'll give it another episode there, but overall it was pretty boring seeing that I don't know what the heck this show is trying to accomplish.

Episode 1

Eh, I'm not feeling it about this series. It has some potential in terms of sci-fi and world building. However, I'm not interested in most of the characters perhaps except for that transfer student.

Guess we'll see how well the pacing will go.

Alright. That was a lot in one go. We've got a sci-fi premise of the solar system being colonized with different nations on different worlds (Iceland on Mars ?) In sorts of bubbles. Focusing on Fourth Tokyo (wonder what happened to the previous ones, did they sink into a swamp ?)

We've got our MC a teacher with previous aspirations of becoming a pilot, but could not become one for reasons and is now teaching engineering students in some scholarship project involving a lot of money.

The class has a mix of people, his little sister included, the nerds, one hacker, we've got the money type who no one listens to, a girl who's hot for teacher it seems, and the girl who's all about results, no matter the cost and such. I'm sure we'll get more into them as the series progesses.

We've also got some prototype spaceship they're working on for a race.

Then there's a transfer student coming in, who has been kidnapped by some workers the corporation screwed over. Company won't fork over the cash, instead the class mounts a mad dash rescue, straight through an asteroid field. Shattering the craft in the process. But turns out the transfer student besides being the head of the department is also some kind of sinister genius getting rid of the kidnappers in one way or the other and saving himself. And seems to be a sort of antagonist for the class.

As it turns out the class is hardly cost efficient and it's about to get shut down. So i guess the structure of this will be about conflict between the two as the class tries to overcome hardships, learn a lot of stuff and get the whole thing to stay around and not get shut down.

Guessing the disgruntled workers will play a role in the future as well.

Question i suppose is how it will be executed and how much action there will be in this.

Looks damn pretty though. Artstyle is nice. But beyond that. Who knows ? We'll see what they do with the characters and the plot. But so far it seems pretty straightforward.

ep 1

so reverse amagi brilliant park in space?

I actually liked it, the lead(?) Kiryu is gonna be interesting to see change possibly by the end of the series and probably try to keep their development branch from being downsized instead

I think I liked it. Characters were fun, if not groundbreaking. The world seems to have potential, it looks as if there is some exploitative labor practices beneath the world's idealistic front. Hopefully that will continue to feature in the story. The guy they tried to rescue sure is a tool, it will be interesting to see how he factors in.

Right now I am not sure which direction it will take. Obviously they are going to try to save their program, but who knows what else will happen. Still, the characters are fun, and the setting has potential so I will stick around a bit. But, I usually find that I don't finish shows with school settings.

Looks very interesting, I'll probably stick to the series till the end. I'm a bit confused on who's our MC, is it the teacher or the transfer student?

I think the teacher is the main character, although the transfer student will be an important character. Teacher's sister, and the pilot girl as well. Those four are probably the main cast.

Seems like a lot for one episode. Like a lot far faster pacing then Yamada could ever hope to achieve. I'll give it the three episode rule though. The world seems promising.

I'll give it another episode or two to get me invested. If not then I'll drop it. Kind of felt all over the place for me personally.

You know this wasn't even that bad but I can't help but feel disappointed. Not because the anime hasn't delivered what it stated it would do but because the entire concept behind this anime is fucking brilliant yet they decided they had to place it in the high school setting. I'm usually a defender of the high school setting as shows such as SNAFU prove that the style can still be captivating. However, when it comes to a show that has such an awesome concept, one where the possibilities stem so far you bubble with creativity simply thinking about it, a high school setting just feels bland. The introduction to all the characters was also pretty shoddy, I'll be surprised if I actually remember any of the characters names besides Iris when next week comes around. The best part of the episode was the ending. I'm looking forward to seeing the idealistic but naive entrepreneurs go up against the corporate machine.

It occurs to me that while the A-TEC program is likable, it was probably expensive programs like them that made the corporation fail to pay the miners. So, maybe the transfer student is less of a jerk and more of a reformer. On the flip side it was also programs like A-TEC that allowed the colonization of the solar system and no doubt other advancements.

Maybe the balance between progress and ethics will be one of the show's themes?

I'll admit that the high school setting is not only pretty corny, but also completely incongruous to the concept of the show...but I also liked the ending. Ridiculous as the scenario they've contrived may be, it could still be fun seeing a bunch of idealistic youths trying to win over the pragmatic representative of "the man".

I got enough from the first episode to give them another 1 or 2 episodes, but it's kinda on the bubble for me.

Kind of bad timing to be debuted with the like of Gate / Gangsta / Renpo this week!

Felt rushed but I am a big space / sci-fi fan and its not anything great but it's far from being bad!

I like the businees side with the space operations . It's kinda of intereasting with private Corps in real-time in the news this this week ! Look at Spacex ! Ka-boom and I am not being funny!

A point looks like no CG used gives me that old style draw feeling !
