Assuming this is getting a simulcast, I guess Funimation will be the one who is going to simulcast this series since they recently licensed Aquarion EVOL.

Aside this new series, it seems there will be an OVA for Aquarion EVOL.

I think I'll have problems taking a main character with that kind of hair seriously.

OTOH, many of us expected Aquarion EVOL to be simulcast (if not by Funimation, then by CR, given that it was on TV Tokyo), but that didn't happen. Instead, Funimation announced their license of it on July 28, 2012, just over a month after the series finished airing.

Is the Aquarion series pretty popular in Japan? It really does seem like it.

I didn't bother with the first series since I was told I could just skip to the EVOL and I only watched the first two episodes of EVOL. I honestly wasn't too impressed by it, seemed like typical mecha shenanigans with some really generic characters haha. Though, I do plan on finishing it since I'm a sucker for romance (no matter how cheap it is) and I love mecha.

Watch the first one, it's better.

The fun of it isn't really in the overarching plot, it's more on an episodic basis. The mecha battles are weird, philosophical, and comedic.

I see that Funi has the first season so I'll watch it and EVOL.

Ah the title was familiar since I saw few episodes of the first series. Never finished yet so don't know about this.
