I've never heard of them. I'm not in the USA and I no longer watch tv anyway.

Some of those anti-smoking commercials are so intentionally disgusting. I am getting tired of seeing a girl drink from a glass containing a dead frog.

this, i doubt most anti smokers actually care about the health of the individuals they "help" they only care about the fact that they knew better, so just another modern ego boost at the expense of thinking, disgusting.

honestly I have no clue what the heck that commercial was about other than smoking. is left swiping a young peoples thing to do nowadays or something?

No it isn't. They are just merging the action to decline a phone call on the iPhone with some completely unrelated, like a dating website.

we are all idiots most of the time,
if not for smoking then something else.

for example thinking that a singular act defines the mental acuity of a person.

He is the target audience of these ads though. You can't blame him.

I Feel Like I see those damn Left Swipe That Commercials everywhere!!! YouTube, TV, Hulu, & Websites. Hopefully I'm not the only one who is annoyed by these? I feel like there spending too much money on these anti-smoking campaigns. If people want to smoke let them. Only reason I would care is if you smoke in my home, car, or me or kids

P.S. anyone else feel like they try to hard to be cool?

Ever heard of a little thing called add block`?

With the way I see it, if someone wants to smoke they are going to do it, regardless of what some ad says. Same goes for drugs and alcohol.

Yup and yup.

As a smoker, I already know not to smoke inside my apartment, inside a business, in some parks (got asked to put my cig out in one once. Surprised me because it was in NYC and with plenty of open air), and at outside curbside dining (technically part of the restaurant or bar).. oh yeah.. most bars are nonsmoking too. With the exceptions of the times I'm already outside I am completely understanding of this. (the outside part irritates me a little. especially the park situation. With the dining, it's foolish because I can't smoke on one side of the line, but on the opposite side I can and there's no issue... Or the people walking the street can smoke, and that's also not an issue)

I get pissed because the carding age for alcohol is 21. The carding age for tobacco is 27. This makes no sense whatsoever as I can smoke a carton of cigs (I'm a 1/2-1/3rd a pack a day smoker.. kinda minimal), and hop in a car and not be affected... At least that's until the next report on smoking rolls out and they link third hand smoke to impaired driving (and yes, there's studies on third hand smoke. That's not being a first hand smoker, or a second hand smoker, who may possibly inhale tobacco smoke while being around smokers, Third hand smoke is considered the smoke "residue" on items that have been owned by smokers in the past, even after several washings and cleanings...)

I get to face advertising demonizing my bad habit (which I admit to it being something nobody should smoke), and hear from asshole non-smokers that I'm SLOWLY KILLING MYSELF!!! OMFG!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Every smoker already knows this. Telling us it will save us so much money doesn't matter either. (I saw the following joke going around to answer this: )

Quite frankly, it's irritating as fuck to have to be bombarded by this shit.

Then there's, as of late, the push to legalize marijuana....

Cause smoking another plant isn't going to still create tars and resins and carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide and a whole host of other shitty chemicals inside you to breathe..

and, unlike tobacco, that shit WILL fuck you up and make it so your judgement is impaired...

But it's acceptable because people think it's "medicinal" (granted, pain relief, I'll give you, but the whole slew of other claims? Most of it comes from biased pro cannabis factions. Just say you want to get high and be honest about it)

Besides you really want to go down the medicinal route, then I can point to tobacco's lovely anti-depressant qualities. (http://mentalhealth.about.com/library/sci/1001/blsmoke1001.htm)

So yeah, the shit smokers get for their bad habit is kinda fucked up.
