So we can get a bit heavy and political on GD from time to time and it occasionally gets a bit heated. I think its important to remember that the people your speaking with are humans and though we may disagree and fight, so much more unites us than divides us.

When you know something more about a person then its easier to see them as a whole. To that end I think we might share images and experiences of places that are important to us and why?

So here's mine.

This is Kynance cove it's located in the south west of England, in the county of Cornwall (were all the smuggling happened). Its a Pretty amazing place with loads of interesting geological stuff going on. There's a large number of rather deep caves which were great fun to explore when I was a kid. There's even one which floods at high-tide and channels water up through a small slit in the cave roof, creating a fountain like effect on the cliff above every time a big wave come in.

Anyway's it's important to me because when I was 16 while out on a "absolutely not a date" me and my best friend climbed up onto the island in the left of the picture. (The one with the bright green grass on top.) She enjoys drawing and wanted to try to sketch out the coastline beyond but the climb up the side of the island is a bit tough. So she asked me to come along and give her a leg up the trickier bits. We had a great time sketching a fooling around for a few hours. Now the tide is right out in the photo but it turns out that section of beach between the island and mainland disappears really quickly as the tide comes in. So when we came back from the far side of the island our route to the way back up the cliffs was covered in water. This wouldn't have been such a big deal as we were both confident swimmers but the reason we had decided to leave was that the sky suddenly wasn't looking too nice, in fact the bay between us and the mainland now looked rather like this.

So not fancying chancing it with the waves and without phone signal we ended up spending the night tucked in the meagre shelter offered between a boulder and a cliff during a full on storm. About half way through the mess both of us drenched from rain and spray, shivering and cold, I ended up telling her how I felt about her and we've been together ever since.

So yeah that's something about me and my life.

EDIT: Apparently I can't spell today

That was wonderful to read! Especially with Minas Tirith playing in another window, right at the best part of the song :D

As for life experiences of my own...I've been to Hawaii five times? No pictures to post, but it was awesome...plus, there were bunkers or something behind our cabins (Bellows AFB area)

Yeah it's one of the features we've managed not to wreck for the most part. Such a shame we don't really have much in the way of big forests left, the sheer scale of some of the ones in the states leaves me in awe.

perrandy just beautiful

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I put it down as one of the the few sections of my life that managed to progress like a episode plot from a romance anime.

I love the silhouette thing you've got going on in that shot.

I love it also, and it happened without any special effects on the camera, or anything!
