My neighbors do this in the summer while cooking on their big steel drum bbq pit like this is friggin Oakland, CA. It smells good but not at 3 or 4 am! Then they let their foster kids that are probably between 7 and 10 run around all night like banshees screaming. Complaining does nothing sadly. The race card gets pulled out and it's back to sleeping with noise cancelling headphones. Our neighborhood was nice 10 years ago. It's been progressively getting worse every year. Hopefully we can move soon, even though we've been in this house for 21 years

It's illegal to play laud music between 10 and 9 on the morning/night in my country, so if anyone dies then I can just make 'em pay up!

Way I see it you have three options:

1) Buy some earplugs at a local pharmacy. They're cheap and generally work pretty well. Too well if you need to hear your alarm to wake up in the morning.
2) Complain - either to them directly, or to the cops. Though you don't seem optimistic of either scenario working out.
3) Crank your volume to max and give them some of the best (worst?) hits of the '80s. Like A Virgin, The Final Countdown, whatever floats your fancy. A few minutes of that and they'll probably Beat It (pun intended, Shahmownah!)... or break in and kill you.

At my locale,( no, not a nursing facility), there is a noise ordinance that is strictly enforced. So unless you want to spend a lot of time with the men/women in blue,(and who doesn't?) you keep your music down .

When neighbour blasts music, there's only one solution to the problem: play death metal as loudly as possible! Songs, which are 100% blast beats are have zero slow moments are a big plus.

My neighbours rarely play music but the walls are still so thin and paper-like that you can even hear normal conversations from the other side if you're right next to the wall. It's almost a tradition to try to sleep while the neighbours are talking about something. It's like hearing bedtime stories.

Normal considering I live in student flats.

I've had neighbors who kept doing it. I never understood how people could be so inconsiderate. They're in a high-class neighborhood, they have their own kids, it is not friday or the weekend, and it is f***ing 3 or 4 in the morning.

I let it slide the first several times, then I called the cops on them when it kept on happening. I tend to have enough sleep problems without excessive outside noise. I could FEEL the bass through my pillow.

Its been done to me, and I've done it. Usually I'd beat on the walls, then I'd go to the door. When that didn't work, I'd call the police, and again, they've been called on me for doing it, as well. Yeah, its really bad when you have to get up early and have a busy day ahead..where I live now we can't play it too loud , as opposed to where I used to live I could blast it to the high heavens because there wasn't anyone close by to complain.

We have a local government environmental team that you can call any hour of the night to check out the noise nuisance. Calling police is for emergencies and possible crimes.

I HATE when people do that. Geez, it's your damn behavior, not the way the light reflects off your skin.
