Q: What is your opinion on lolis?

Discussion: How do you define "loliconism?" Do you call yourself you a lolicon? If so, when did you start, and what drew you to like "loli" anime? Where do you draw your lines in animation? What age is okay for a one to decide if they want to have intimacy/intercourse without being "raped?"

_______________
When I was younger and first started getting acquainted with anime, I learned about lolicons. At first it greatly disturbed me. to be honest, I thought it was just a bunch of pedophiles hiding their love for children in cartoons. But as I grew up, I realized most lolicons are people who have lines, and it's rare that they're just creeps who sexualize young girls in real life.
Today, I like a bunch of moe and loli slice-of-life anime. They're cute and feel like a breath of fresh air when I need a break from action/horror anime.

I guess it means adorable. Like kitty and puppy adorable. With that being said, I would not have sex with a kitty or puppy, which also translates that I will not have sex with a loli.. well underage and innocent ones at least.

Lolicon or shotacon are terms for a particular type of pedophilic character (a lolicon targets girls, and a shotacon, boys) most commonly found in Japanese Media. The names are derived from Lolita and the main character from Gigantor respectively, while "-con" is short for "complex.

Sometimes, a work's creator wishes to overlook the damaging aspect of pedophilia and use a pedophile character for comedic purposes. Therefore, rather than being played to repulse the audience, a lolicon or shotacon in mainstream works is normally treated as being a little creepy, but ultimately harmless,

Here's my view on it. So when it comes to loli's and shota's it's a younger looking character who at glance you would think is quite young, they can takes on a cute, innocent, and naive nature of younger people which can be quite juxtaposing to there actual personality. What I think about people who are really fond of loli''s or shota it probably stems from people who have lost out on romantic relationships in their younger years, not that it's wrong in anyway shape or form. I like loli's the reason being partly of what I just touched on, and because it's cute and can create funny situation's. As for the last question I don't even know.

Never been much of a fan of lolis. I mean, I don't hate them, but I guess it just doesn't really do anything for me. And I guess lolicon/shotacon is fine, so long as one doesn't take it too far. Then again I guess that could be said for anything.

High probability it is this. I read something like this in an article for psychology. (a pedophile article...)

I like some loli characters, others I hate. My favorite is Tail Red, which is a psuedo-loli, since gender bend.

I don't see a huge problem with it. The same standards we use when considering pornography, extreme violence, or other graphic scenes should be used here. It's just something people watch. As long as they don't attempt to enact what they saw, the world should be fine. I was never really supportive of the idea of censorship.

For me, a lolicon is a person who is attracted to characters that he/she knows to be underaged. It does not necessarily translate into pedophilia in reality. I guess it's more of an underage fantasy, not an actual attraction to small children.

As with other fantasies, keep it in check. Don't flaunt it and make a display of yourself if you're a loli. Just....stay cool and use good judgment. You know exactly how society thinks. You're aware it is easy misconstrued as straight pedophilia, so knowingly don't put yourself in situations where people will misunderstand you. That's a general rule for life.

I find the idea itself repulsive. However, as Morbidhanson mentioned, the same standards we use towards pornography, violence, etc. in media should be applied in this case. Therefore, don't ban it.

I don't care as long as they do not attempt anything on real small children.

I'm not really sure what it means really. I mean in Toradora, Taiga looks like a little kid, but apparently is the same age as everyone else, so is that lolicon? It seems most anime use the young looking character while also being usually the oldest as comedic value, and some romance anime use those young looking characters as the main love interest, like Toradora, Familiar of Zero, Dance in the Vampire Bund.

When I was in high school, I had several girlfriends who were extremely petite. My first girlfriend in highschool was 4'10", and she was like 85 pounds, and she was 17. I was 15, 5'10'', and 150 pounds. My next girlfriend wasn't much bigger, she was 5' and 95 pounds, and 17 when I was 16. I wonder if the people in my school were calling me a lolicon behind my back....Though in my defense, they were both gymnasts, and in danceline competition together....And best friends..... The point is they looked younger than they were, but it's not like they looked like elementary students.

But anyways, I guess I don't really care either way, as long as they aren't actually portraying pedophilia.

I think the only anime where they were close to crossing the line for me was Rogue Asthetica, where the loli was actually underage.

Although some people find the idea of loli to be repulsive and the same as pedophilia, I think portraying loli is merely just one use of one type of permitted medium. Like how an ugly drawing and a beautiful drawing are both just still drawings. They are both on paper and the tool used to create both were pencils. It is the expression of the ideas that we may or may not agree with, but people should still be allowed to express them.

Sort of like books, in a way. No book should be banned based solely on the ideas contained within. If it contains actual information that could compromise people's safety, like some sort of secret military code, that's a different story. It is also highly unlikely. I also do not mind restricting things that interferes with others' rights, such as a book that is meant to sully a person's reputation based on no decent evidence. By and large, though, things such as books and animation do not do these things and should therefore be tolerated although, of course, it is best to go on a case by case basis in case the exercise of a right interferes unduly with the rights of another.

One of my earlier girlfriends was 22, 80 pounds and was a good bit shorter than me I'm only 5'6 and she only came up to my chin, everyone thought she was 13 and I was 19 she was also very sexual/touchy in public which made the whole relationship weirder for onlookers. Granted where I live legal is 16 but they thought she was 13.

It was like living in Kodomo No Jikan ( a very eeeeeh uneasy lolicon anime)

However the one of the funnier lines I remember was in Gantz.

Guy - I'm a lolicon
Tae - But I'm 17!
Guy - That's loli enough for me!
