Apparently cats are the number one pet in the United States. This I cannot confirm however.

Cats are better than dogs for many reasons.

1. Dogs are hyper and climb and drool all over you.

2. They whine and yip and bark. Mainly, they're WAY louder than cats.

3. I'm stuck with a dog who poops and pees all over the place during the night. When morning comes, the place is a minefield. Ugh.

4. Cats are cuter.

5. I'm like a cat. My hearing is excellent as well as my sense of smell and such... I am really fast, I can see really well in the dark, I can meow good...

Oh, and I have to keep fighting the urge to kill that dog! He whines because his owner isn't there... When nobody is in the room he yips... And when he's a yipper if we leave the home he starts barking. I came home to it... And here I am ranting... Sorry, but this is a poll and a comment from a cat person!

1. Not if you train them well. My dog sleeps 70% of the time and is rather calm the rest of the day. (except when you say "walk" XD) also most dogs don't drool.
2. Again, you can train them to or train them not to. Mine is trained to bark at people at the door and when we ask him to stop he does.
3. My god have you ever trained this dog?
4. Your first actual argument .... which is highly subjective.
5. Ok I guess??
Instead of wanting to kill your dog train him properly (Talk to vets on how to etc..). My dog was a rescue who was attacked by other dogs etc. He was a mess when we got him but he is now mostly sorted and a joy to be with.

I'm a dog person if you didn't get that XD.

Sigh... What if it was too hyper to be trained?

I've owned both cats and dogs in the past.

Dogs can be very helpful and loyal or they can be very annoying and bark, yip and the likes, all depends on the breed and how they were raised/trained, and of course the area they live in. Also a lot of it comes down to energy as well, if the dog doesn't get enough affection, attention, and exercise. Some breeds tend to get separation anxiety, which causes them to do stuff like bark, tear things up and whatnot when the owner isn't around.

Cats can be very quite and sweet or very loud and obnoxious depending on the breed. If they don't get enough attention, play and of course depending on breed they can be your worst enemy. I've owned 2 Bengal/Asian wildcat mixes and they were some of the most wild obnoxious cats ever, but they were also very affectionate when they wanted to be.

Really any animal can have its issues, i don't think there is a better or worse overall, its just a matter of which is best for the person adopting, raising them.
