Your eyes will water, but you probably wont cry. Your sadness level depends on which girl you're rooting for.

It's not that sad, it's more depressing but of the good kind.

i'd call it more somber than sad. the ending lost it's effectiveness since you knew it was coming. i shed more tears over Kamina dying than this show.

I'm with you.

If an anime that's generally silly, funny or just plain over the top (example at the top of my head: Jojo) suddenly throws a sad scene in my face, I tend to get much more emotional. If I outright expect a show to try and make me sad/depressed, I find it a bit hard to get the feels.

I wouldn't call it "sad" so much, I think a better term would be emotional.

You know pretty early on exactly what is going to transpire, but they build up to it while doing (IMO) a good job of getting you attached to the characters. So as things unfold, it definitely tugs at the heart.

But it doesn't tear your heart out.

i quit before it got too far, cuz i really hate sad shows and it was obvious where it was heading. So i'd say it's pretty sad

Yeaah, that's what I did as well. I especially don't like it when a show is purposefully melodramatic and you know it's trying to make you sad. I just can't start the next episode when I know it's just going to be sad.

This. It's got some powerful feels, especially at the end, but it's more of a melodrama than a tragedy. It doesn't have the sustained sadness and foreboding of Angel Beats , nor does it beat you over the head like Anohana.

Not even close to the sadness from clannad, so I'd probably rate it a 2/10

I would say a 7.5/10
Clannad being a 10/10

I was rooting for Tsubaki to fall in love with Kosei. They didn't really say if they got together or not. Plus Watari didn't get a happy ending at all. Now that I look back on it, I'd rate this a 7/10.

It left with me somber as well and a bit teary at the end just because I was (stupidly) hoping that the ending wouldn't end the way it did but it wasn't overly depressing. I wish we'd gotten a little more insight into the characters personal choices at the end. What happened afterwards but I'd say it was an enjoyable show. 7.5/10 for me.
