Hmmmm, I'd hate to walk away with Your Lie in April as a "sad" show since it had some very moving moments from all kinds of emotions. For every sad moment it had we got a heartwarming one too.

With that said it's kinda hard to gauge since it'll effect everyone differently. Me personally I'd say 7/10. Defiantly not the saddest anime I've seen but I was hit in the feels.

Regardless it's worth a watch. Beautiful show.

You're missing out, the obvious foreshadowing part isn't what's sad about it.

There's other things to watch and time is limited.

This is definitely worth your time.

It made me sad, although I kind of knew it was likely going to happen... I wish it turned out happier though.

as soon as it was over for me I wasn't really sad. I didn't feel for this show. But it had such a wonderful story and it was very bright, so I did love the anime

On a scale from 1-10 I would say that it is a 7 or so. It is sad, but not sad enough to actually make me cry! But, it is an amazing anime and I recommend it to everyone!

I remember not feeling much, really. I certainly wasn't feeling as sad as other people claimed to be feeling. I'd give it a 5? Possibly a 5.5. I didn't cry. It ended kind of bittersweet as far as I remember, rather than soul-crushingly depressing. So, personally, if it doesn't make me cry, I can't really say it's too sad, considering there are numerous other shows that have made me shed those manly tears. This is, of course, just my personal experience. But hey, it's certainly not a happy-go-lucky, carefree anime. It's heavy for sure.

I'm a grow man, disabled Navy veteran, and single father. I have seen my share of heartache. This show made me cry like a baby and will stay with me forever. As a classical music lover the soundtrack adds another layer to an already emotional story. No matter how much it hurts it should not be overlooked by any fan of music or anime.

I didn't feel that sad but I shouldn't have read too much about it even though I avoided major spoilers.
