I guess I have a soft spot for stuff like insects and shrimp and stuff. I like them as pets so I don't like to eat them. I will eat tempura and shrimp flavored stuff, but cocktail shrimp and crab legs and lobster tails aren't my thing.

I'll eat many things but it'd take a lot for me to try raw meats or fish. I've had black pudding which is a blood sausage. I've had kidney in a steak and kidney pie. I've tried tongue. I've tried Haggis (stuffed sheep's stomach with heart liver, lungs, suet and oats in it). I've had kangaroo, rabbit, pigeon, venison, ostrich, opposum (manicou), octopus, shark, squid. Mostly I stick to a lot of beans/peas, vegetables, chicken/turkey, fish and have lamb on rare occasions and beef on even rarer occasions.

I'll try insects (excludes cockroaches, wasps, lice) and tarantulas at least once if I'm in a place that normally cooks this. After all I've had sea insects already aka, crustaceans with shrimps, crabs and prawns.

I won't go for blue/green/white veined cheeses.

I don't consider myself that adventurous.... well adventurous adventurous.

Things I've eaten:

Unusual meats:

Frog

raw chicken (I thought I was going for a piece of raw marinating beef. Turned out it was chicken. Meh)

raw deer (and cooked, but I really have very few compunctions about eating raw meats from healthy wild game)

rabbit (family member used to raise them for slaughter. not that unusual but someone else listed it)

fried maggots

liver (not a huge one onorgan meats, but livers of various sorts are good)

Goose (was an experiment for Xmas. Would definitely do it different next time)

Unusual plants:
A whole hell of a lot of the unusual fruits and veg in the supermarket

Flowers, including orchids, violas, nastursiums, roses, squash blossoms, carnations, english daisies, dandelions, and tiger lillies

Hostas (the youngest of leaves in the center of the plant are edible. In fact, I think the whole thing is edible)
planning on harvesting my own bamboo shoots

Wild purslane (a favorite weed of mine to eat, especially early morning when it still contains a fair amount of malic acid and has a weird tart apple flavor)

Ramps (before we learned it's not good to harvest them because they're a "threatened" species in my area)

Wild mushrooms (I grow actually some wine caps now after trying eating wild ones), including maitake, morels, chantrelles.

A variety of fresh herbs, including wormwood and comfrey. (family was sadistic with the wormwood. the others were because they figured on trying the "natural" remedies first)

EDIT: I hope to try a few new things this year, including maypops (a northern hardy passionfruit), bamboo shoots (freshly harvested, not canned), and kiwano.

I have also an interest in trying yew berries, as I hear they are edible, but EVERYTHING else on the plant is highly poisonous, including the leaves, the limbs/stems, and the seeds inside the berries. Soooooo that's kinda on hold...
