Hey everyone. I'M REALLY SORRY if this thread is against the rules. I read them and didn't see anything there about advertising. It was mainly about spam chainlettering.

Anyway so, I've written The Forest: The Beginning and I'd like to find peeps who'd like to review it :D. I love anime, and I really think that anime and manga have better plots/feels/stories than Western books/movies! Like, u know, compare FT to anything - it doesn't! FT has everything it has the comedy, action, AND THE FEELS. So I tried creating a book that's set in the US, with mostly Caucasian peeps, BUT it's pretty much like SAO (the romance) and FT. The action is a little like AoT.

At first, I was really reluctant to reveal that it's basically an anime, but in the guise of Western settings and people... because I wanted non-anime people to like it and maybe open their eyes to anime. I feared that if it gets the reputation of "being anime/manga-like" it'll scare off all the urban fantasy lovers who hate anime and manga. BUT :D, it's been 1 month and no one outside of a few friends, has bought it on Amazon :D. So, I'm biting the bullet and asking for the help of fellow anime/manga fans :D.

Here is a little bit about the story. It's not a literary fiction like Gatsby or stuff our profs would assign to us in our English major courses. Definitely not Jane Eyre, definitely not Uglies. However, it's not Twilight either. I feel that my writing style / writing in general is superior to Stephanie Meyer's (tell me if I'm wrong!) The characters aren't superficial like Twilight's - I don't have characters who are so generic and so superficial that you'd be forced to call them one-dimensional.

However, yeah my book is an urban fantasy commercial fiction - so it's not going to have philosophical metaphors or literary symbolism craftily embedded into every single page. This is the first book of the series, and slowly, but surely, my main focus and goals are to have deep, well-developed characters, lots of action, and to elicit emotions from readers. I want people to feel attached for the characters, and get teary or happy when surprise good and bad stuff happens (Like in FT, Angel Beats, Clannad, Anohana, etc.).

The story, in a nutshell, depicts how a college Freshman feels during their first week of college - all the woes, and getting used to everything. Then suddenly, the main characters end up in a supernatural world (which is on campus), which a clandestine group of students were trying to keep hidden. This "world" is filled with dangerous monsters which the clandestine group of students fight each day in order to prevent the monsters from leaving the world and endangering people on campus.

If you're interested in reviewing my book, please tell me I'll send you a free copy. I'm really interested in finding people who can read and review it within 2 weeks of receipt. If you end up liking it and writing a positive review, I'll send you the next installment in the series for free :).

Well thanks for taking the time to read this! I hope forums has a private message inbox. PM me if you're interested!

Promoting your own creative work here is fine as long as you aren't spamming a lot of posts/comments about it.

We do have one forum especially for sharing your own art, writing, etc. and getting feedback, so I've moved this thread there. It's Creative Corner

ETA: Found it on Amazon and downloaded a sample...will let you know how that goes.
