Where do you guys stand?

Are you obsessed with Japanese culture, or the stuff they produce? Perhaps.. both? How about lightweight, any of these options? ლ(́◉◞౪◟◉‵ლ)

I like to maintain a distance between the two. I like alot of the media japan produces and alot of the culture fascinates me but I wouldnt call myself obsessed with the culture. I know enough about to Japan to know I probably wouldnt want to live there(high cost of living, long work hours) but it seems like a cool place to visit.

I do enjoy their culture, but I'm far too westernized to participate in it. I ain't even gunna pretend I know a lot about it, because while I do have some education of it, I have never been to Japan.

I suppose I'm more with the media.

I'm not obsessed with either the culture or the media. I enjoy both but not to any crazy extent.

Made in Japan is the holy kingdom.

Used in Japan is a brand in itself.

Look at my toothbrush, it was used in Japan, yo.

Nah, I'm not obsessed, but I'd be naivé to suggest I'm not influenced by it since early childhood.

Anime is my biggest hobby and I appreciate the japanese culture, however.. its far from an obsession. I'm obsessed with anime, not with japan :P.

I'm obsessed with neither, and I'm Japanese (that's probably why). I do however, think Gintama is super interesting.

Just the media. I'm not really interested in the culture.

I like both. But I really love the culture. Hard work. Discipline. The importance of family and trust. Even if those aspects are multiplied to a fault, I really like that kind of culture.

Having been raised in a household heavily influenced by Japanese culture by my old-fashioned grandma, I feel that my preference for Japanese stuff is due to my upbringing and overall lifestyle. Our family has always preferred to buy high quality expensive things that last forever and my grandma herself was raised like a Japanese person. Since she raised me by myself (I never lived with my parents), I grew up on Japanese stuff. My grandma taught me to make Japanese food and I've been making food since I was 6 or 7.

I wouldn't consider it an obsession with the media or culture. I like both but liking them feels quite natural and even my most blunt and douchey friends have never called me a Japanophile or anything like that. I definitely do have a tendency to buy Japanese things and make Japanese food, though. Japanese products are usually made very well and I enjoy the flavor of the food since it is less heavy than most Taiwanese, Thai, or other Asian foods.

I don't consume much Japanese media anymore. And while I do like Japanese food and their emphasis on cleanliness I'm really not a fan of the culture at all, I find it a little too rigid and homogenous.

I love quite a bit of Japanese culture, I think the way they do a lot of things is elegant. Although i don't go into all the anime stuff, some is ok but i wouldn't want a full on house or apartment full of anime related stuff and nothing but that. No offense to those that do, i don't mind it and respect it, it's just not my style. Too much of any one thing can be bad if not done in a tasteful manner. I've seen people decorate with one theme only to overdo it and make it look tacky and i've seen people that do anime related things in a major way thats done very tasteful.
