Sake is my favorite drink. I dislike sake bombs and saketinis since it's only a good idea to make those with lower quality sake. I like it chilled and straight. Hot sake can be great with sushi and if you have sake that you opened for too long.

I'm kinda the same with vodka to be honest. Really good vodka is good on its own and it seems a waste to put it in other things.

I've never tried sake though. I probably should

Damn straight its near criminal to mix the nice stuff!

Sadly I rarely get away with spending that much on alcohol which my partner doesn't like. I swear our house is drowning in cream liqueurs that you can't have more than a few sips of without feeling sickly.

A taste for sake is an acquired one. You'll probably want to start with hot sake with food and sake bombs before trying the nice stuff at room temperature or chilled. There is one fairly solid sake that comes at a good price, though. It is Hakutsuru junmai ginjo. It's not the best sake ever but it's really decent for the price. I can usually get a bottle for $9-$12. It's good for pretty much everything and easy to drink

I tend to prefer my sake light, dry, and floral but I've started to appreciate the richer, sweeter, more full-bodied types lately, as well as shochu and hot water.

Oh, and Hakutsuru junmai ginjo is quite easy to find. I've seen it in all Japanese markets and most other Asian markets.

I used to make an Irish coffee every morning with cream liqueurs. I stopped because it started costing too much lol

I'm of the opinion that if you can handle your habit without it interfering from functioning then you go girl.

Ah, Thanks for the advice! I'm afraid I'm in one of the more rural holdouts of Britain. There aren't any Asian markets I know of within 40-60 miles. And me without a car! I'll see about it when I'm back in more urban straits.

Call me disgusting, but I enjoy some four lokos.

Four Loko is a very efficient way to get hammered, especially if you combine it with bottom shelf discount liquors or someone in your group obtains some Everclear.

For taste, though, I love sake. Current favorite is Rihaku Wandering Poet. Sake is my overall favorite but I like most alcoholic beverages.

I'm also pretty big on whiskey. Hibiki and Yamazaki are at the top of my list.

I like beer as well. I prefer my beer as dark as I can get it. Stouts and porters are my favorite. Current favorite is Einstok toasted porter.

I hate beer so I prefer to drink a nice wine or some sort of cocktail. I also like Spanish sangria.

Four Loko's!? do the ones you drink have alcohol in them? The one's here locally no longer contain alcohol, last I heard anyway. It was like an energy drink mixed with alcohol right? If I'm correct they were uber popular until to many people were "energetically drunk" so it was pulled off shelves here in CenCal. They have showed up again on shelves, but I believe they are no longer alcoholic.
