How do you know what you know ?
Posted 2/4/08
Scribbles : If there`s a thread like this , I`m sorry .
I did get permission from Do0mAid so there shouldn`t be a problem , I hope .

~*~*~

How do you know what you know ? Where do you gain your knowledge ?
Do you gain your knowledge from school , your parents , your friends or the streets ?
Do you gain knowledge through sensory experiences or rational thinking ?

Have you asked yourself these questions ?

I haven`t but my English teacher did . I was curious . He said this question came from our Religion textbook and when I found it , all I saw were the seven smarts . The seven smarts are verbal , visual , physical , musical , logical , self and people . A person who is people smart knows how to make one feel comfortable or uncomfortable . How does that person know how to make others feel comfortable ?

So , in your opinion , how do you know what you know ?

thats a mighty fine question you have there... i guess i know what i know from everyplace and everyone that i have met/seen... after gaining information from other outside sources, i go within myself and learn new things based off this information.. it is an ongoing process in which i will recieve knowledge from others, learn from it, and share my thoughts

i learn from books and pick up stuff a long the line and store them in my useless info brain slot. and then when it comes to test time i know like 90% of the answers from memory. also i read books, internet and national geography and discovery channel. if i want to know some street smarts i just go outside and chill with my friends.

Everything else I learn is from life, you kno? I mean every second of life you are kinda learning something.
learned most of what I know from my pops, music, friends, teachers, professors, through expirence, complete strangers, some stuff from T.V.
My main point is that You learn new stuff every second. Like right now for instance, I am in class learning about Chinese and Japanese history.... I guess I should be listening

i gain knowledge everywhere. no matter what people can't stop learning no matter what they think. they always try something new and explore it. i learn from people they learn from me its like teachers teach students and it can also be the opposite because they learn from each other.

Our brains are miraculous pieces of work. Scientifically, this is how we learn...

New memories are logged into the brain through the temporal lobes, via the hippocampus and neighboring temporal lobe cortex. Everything we see, feel, taste or smell must pass through the hippocampus and adjacent temporal lobe cortex to be remembered. The hippocampus is the brain's new memory structure in the temporal lobe. The temporal lobe is the part of the cerebral hemisphere situated to the side of the frontal lobe. The frontal lobe is the cerebral hemisphere from the motor strip forward. We know this based on an unfortunate surgical mishap in the 1950's, when a patient underwent surgery to remove one of his temporal lobes in an attempt to control his seizures, which were emanating from that temporal lobe. Unknown to the surgeon, the hippocampus in the other temporal lobes had never developed and the patient had been going through life with only one functioning hippocampus, which the neurosurgeon cut out. From that day on, the patient could not lay down a single new memory. But, he could still recall everything that had happened to him up to the day of the surgery. The fact that he could recall old memories indicated the old memories are stored outside the temporal lobes. Also, because people with damage to the temporal lobes can still remember for about an hour, working memory- the scratch pad of the brain from which immediate memories are taken for long-term storage-which is also though to lie outside of the temporal lobes and in the frontal lobes. The actual chemistry of a memory trace is still unknown.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions, feel free to message me. ^_^

Rationally thinking, you obtain knowledge through your brain. But memories can come from seeing something that is important to you, because of the way it smelled, or because of its irrevocable beauty. A memory can come from anything that is extensively exclusive enough to penetrate the mind, and become something that you want to remember forever. Knowledge is the same. If you wish to learn about a subject and it piques your interest, you obviously more likely to learn it more quickly. You can gain knowledge through almost any type of meduim. Observing while someone play the piano and familiarizing yourself with the keys can help you gain knowledge of playing the piano. Watching someone's face after they've found out that they've won the lottery makes you gain knowledge of how people react to certain impulses that are externally sent from another source.

That's my Oprah wisdom for the day. Lol. ^_^ Again, if you have any questions, feel free to message me. ^_^

this is the kind of discussion that confuses me...

we might not even exsist we could be sperate machines linked to a computer, programmed.

Or God is telling us everything we need to know, punishing us for our bad deeds and rewarding us for the goood.

And then theres the idea we could all just be imaginary, a figmant of some ones very good imagination.
