Philosophers have argued for centuries. Some say the only certainty we can achieve is through Reason, some say the only "knowledge" we can have is through our perceptions, some say we're born with certain faculties of reason to interpret our perceptions (see Descartes, Hume, and Kant respectively for examples.) In the last two cases, however, we come to the problem of absolute certainty, knowledge as definite as mathematics or the law of identity. You could just re-define knowledge to be our best guesses regarding the world we perceive, but this is obviously not very pleasing. I'm afraid the only absolute certainty we can have is in a very limited world of ideals - not virtues or desires, but mathematics, which is not particularly helpful to constructing and living our lives.

It seems best to me to knowingly live in a world of uncertainty, choosing what appears to be the best course of action but keeping in mind the other possibilities and potential outcomes - to become Said's exile to the very realm of knowledge.

It was Socrates, actually. Both Plato and Aristotle had their supposed certainties.

If you knew the philosophies of Plato and Aristotle, you would know that they could not have made that statement seriously. On top of that, you can look it up online like I just did now...
