Surprised this hasn't been brought up, considering its been several days. Fox confirmed that after more than a decade, that 90's classic "The X-Files" will return sometime this summer with six new episodes that will reunite David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in the roles of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

I hope this works out well. With paranormal show like "Supernatural" and "Grimm" having cult fans, why not bring back the show that started it all? With Chris Carter also in tow, this could be one of the biggest comebacks in recent memory.

Yeah, I heard about that a few days ago. Made me almost interested in going back and rewatching some of the original episodes--maybe even the ones in the later seasons that I never watched because it was just no longer very good. Interested to see what direction they'll go with these new episodes, but I won't much care because, hey, Gillian Anderson.

I'm pretty psyched for this. I loved the show back in the day. Its a shame its only 6 episodes, but I'll take it.

I'll watch the "pilot". But I pretty much got my weird sci-fi fill from Fringe.

I'm kinda torn on it myself. I LOVE Xfiles, it was my second big scifi love outside of classic Dr. Who. But i've seen great series make comebacks or jump the shark and ruin the feel of it all. We'll see.

I can't wait. I haven't watched all the episodes but the ones I did were creepy and scary. 6 episodes is nothing though. People can't finish a story with a whole season and we're supposed to be satisfied with 6 episodes?

I'll watch it eventually. It's just I much preferred the monster-of-the-week episodes to the mythology episodes. The mythology episodes were meandering and boring. Six episodes of alien paranoia with no "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" or "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" in between just doesn't seem like much fun.

When I was a kid, me and my dad used to watch this all the time! I can't wait to see it's return.

So, anyone seen the first two episodes? I'd say it pretty solid "X-Files", feels like it's the 90s again. Mulder and Scully have hardly changed since 2002 when the original show ended. The first two episodes have a good story (involving strange children, and yes, Mulder and Scully's test tube son is mentioned) has some surprises, but isn't that what the show is all about. By the way, ratings for both episodes have been strong so it's safe to say that there's still an audience for government/alien conspiracies, not to mention nostalgia. By the way, last nights episode was followed by "Lucifer", a pretty decent new show where the Prince of Darkness is a cop. A pretty good lead actor, decent story, and some clever humor.

Actually got round to watching the original series.

Scared the hell out of me as a kid, whenever that music played, sends chills & I look around the room.

Decided at long last to give it a try. Trying to catch up before I watch any of the new eps, don't want to jump eps ahead for potential plot twists.
