Is This The Worst Quote Ever Made?
Posted 3/29/15 , edited 7/26/15
“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”

― Dr. Seuss

Not really. There's no point crying over what's already happened. You're better off smiling, even if it's rape.

Let your anger boil to its limit. Afterwards, pour it all out on that one special person.

Oh, of course there would be stupid applications. There's having a positive outlook on life and there's being quite insane.

But I do agree that there's not much point glooming over small things gone wrong. Small things.

the problem with quotes is that it can't be applied to all situations and all persons. it's just meant for some situations or some people.

take the phrase, "love is blind" for example. it's meant for people who are foolishly in love; it isn't meant for someone who is sane, single or cynical.

No.
It's all about the context of the situation in which you're using it.
Idk what Dr. Seuss book that's from, but I'm sure it was wonderful advice for the person on the receiving end.

That quote can also be used for something good not just bad stuff.
Naruto manga Ended!!!
“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
HunterXHunter anime ended!!!!
“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”

You get it I'm sure. In the end its all about context really as someone
else pointed out.

"Its better to have love and lost, then never to have loved at all"
Is close to "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”

Has pretty much the samish meaning. A melancholy bittersweet vibe.

If your a glass 1/2 full type person its easier to accept and get then
if you where a glass 1/2 empty type.

"It's better to walk and stumble, then to never have walked before."

― Man born with no legs

You cried, didn't you?

Edit: You made me spell "than" wrong. Your fault not mine.

Quotes, though not applicable for everything, can never be BAD. Even if one person believes that it is the worst ever, someone else could use it to make it through every day...

It's like the end of Lord of the Rings, when Sam is crying for Frodo leaving...that would be a wonderful time for the quote.

Nah, this is just an optimistic point of view. I'm a huge pessimist but even reading this warms my heart.
