Ever since I was young, I've been fascinated with these little creatures. I'm also a fan of marine life. Pretty much anything that is not a mammal is really interesting to me.

One of my first toys that I can remember was a giant rubber spider that my grandma bought for me when she went to Australia. One of the first English words I learned was "spider." I read entomology journals and books A LOT, which was what allowed me to learn English so fast even though I'm not a native speaker. I loved camping and catching snakes and bugs and became pretty well-known in my neighborhood for it. High schoolers doing their AP biology insect collecting would ask for me help. People call me over when they see a freaky bug and don't know what it is.

I was an entomology major in college before switching to creative writing. These creatures are like little machines and I'm constantly surprised why so many people are scared of them. Of course, there are things I don't like but they tend to be germy or parasitic.

So, do you like or hate creepy crawlies? Or are you somewhere in between. What do you do when you encounter one? Discuss!

I find them fascinating. I love watching the specials on Nat Geo and Discovery.

Terrified of spiders. I don't like the other ones but spiders are awful. I usually try to neutralize them with a long weapon such as a broom when I see them, depending on how big and scary they look. Sometimes I'll throw a shoe at them from a distance, or maybe I'll just run away.

Snakes are beautiful, but large insects of the creepy, crawly kind... Something about the way some of them lurk in the shadows, rapidly reproduce and move really fast despite being tiny is just scary. As soon as an insect rolls up looking like its armoured for war, I get the hell out of there. Being from the UK and being so used to insects being tiny, probably the biggest you'd see being the cockroach, I think that's most of the reason the larger ones you'd find in other countries are so scary to most of us. Usually when I see large insects, I either ignore them or move away and wait for someone else to notice...

The biggest and most heavily armored insects are probably beetles but they aren't that scary. In my grandma's time, the villagers in her area would raise stag beetles and bet on stag beetle fights.

I do the latter, I get a slipper then slap the shit out of it, 10 more hits for good luck

The bigger the insect, the bigger the reward

I like gastropods for the most part, not a fan of things that feed on me in any way(unless I am dead). Jumping spiders are one of my favorites also, they will turn their head and make eye contact with you.

I don't hate them, just want us to stay in our respected areas...separate from each other. I don't wanna cuddle them...but they have purpose and beauty.

I'm the only person I know who grabs their mom when confronted with a spider.

I don't hate them, but I don't like them. When I see a type of spider in my house that I've never seen before, or a black widow right outside my front door, I do start to freak out a little.
