Whew, glad its not just me, I've been having that exact same problem on my PS3 (but its one of the latest models). I've been trying to troubleshoot it, but baffled and Crunchyroll on my Roku seems to work just fine.

(for those wondering why I care, the PS3 app is usually more responsive than Roku and my PS3 is wired to my LAN, but Roku is wireless)

I'm having the same issue. I can't play a single video, they all just say there is an unknown error.

When is CR gonna get its shit together and fix this, no matter what happens this app never works.

This is happening to me to. Thing is though that if I "refresh" whatever list of videos I'm on about 7-10 times one episode will finally play. Sometimes I'll refresh over 20 times and I just keep getting the same "unknown video error" message.

Please CR, I became a member to watch anime on my ps3. When I see this error message it just makes me want to go on Netflix and watch some Dubbed anime instead which is something you don't want your customers to do considering CR is targeted towards anime fans. I have never had any problems with Netflix and I'm just wondering what your hold up is on fixing this problem.

Are there any plans at all to fix these problems or have you already abandoned ps3 users? Let us know please so we can decide to wait or just cancel our subscription (for those who only watch CR on the ps3)

I also have the same problems. Heavily considering canceling my sub until they fix it. Ps3 is the only thing I can really use to watch CR.

I just bought a new tv a couple weeks ago, and was all happy to start watching CR on a screen almost twice the size of my monitor using my PS3. Before I got my current monitor, which is better but smaller than my old tv, I used the PS3 app and rarely had a problem. That was ... up until January of 2014 I think. But since I started using the app again I've had one minor, and now one major issue.

The minor issue is that the app doesn't always record my episode progress properly. I can watch an episode all the way through, and then when I look at my queue on the PC it says I've only gone halfway through the episode. Which isn't a big deal, all it means is that without playing the episode again the queue doesn't advance to the next episode when they air so I have to do it manually. Like I said, not a big deal, just a minor annoyance.

The real problem just started today. I arrange current simulcasts in my queue by air-date, and roughly air-time, with backlog coming after that. So when I scroll through my queue to today's episodes I go past several series, right? Well today I managed to watch two or three episodes, and when I went to scroll to the next one, I got this error:

An exception has occurred with the application. Please restart the application to continue.

TypeError: 'null' is not an object (evaluating 'newText'.replace')
line: 40, source:js/app/Crunchyroll/view/component/widget/TextBox.js.

So I have to exit the app and restart it. I can scroll through the first 10 series without problem, but the second I scroll to the next series*, BAM. I get that error again. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and again was able to watch like two episodes before I started getting the error again. I tried restarting the PS3, no effect at all. I restarted the app repeatedly, and keep getting that error until it finally worked.

Now to be honest, I had been considering getting a separate streaming device like Chromecast or something to use instead of the PS3, and maybe even replacing my PS3 with a regular blu-ray player since it's been a while since I've played games on it. And this isn't something that would make me reconsider my sub or anything. But this is still incredibly frustrating and really should not be happening.

*Classroom Crisis, for the record - though it was other series when I went from watching one episode to not being able to watch the next

TypeError: 'null' is not an object (evaluating 'newText'.replace')
line: 40, source:js/app/Crunchyroll/view/component/widget/TextBox.js."
Hope they fix it soon....

I'm also having the same problem. and when it does start to play it freezes or skips on me. its very annoying. I've uninstalled the app to see if it would fix it self to but it didn't. if they fix it can someone let me know. I've given up on watching it on my PlayStation 3. its been like this for a few days for me. I wrote them a letter no reply, yet.

Same here I get the unknown error. I just got a new tv and thought it was one of the shows I was watching....I can look at the shows but can't watch them as soon as I click on it the screen is just black and when I try to quit the application the ps3 does a hard reset.

Ditto.

Though it only seems to be for Yugioh and only episodes 45-48.

I'm gonna uninstall then re install it.

Maybe that'll work.

Because of the limited ram, the ps3 will always have issues.
