To be honest how I really feel about this I'll say no. I've played violent games when I was a kid and it didn't change me. I think it tones down the violence actually. More like crack down on how much you play games for health issues. Due to couple head injuries I sustained I couldn't look at blinking lights. When playing games that has flashing lights it worsen my condition. I know kids loves their shows, tv, games, phones ect, but it's the parents decision on the matter really to get their children off whatever and go outside to exercise or play. Even my brother played violent games since he was ten. He grew up okay. lol. It's like, what happens if porn no longer exist? It's only my opinion, though.

I do think they should crack down on it. You wouldn't willingly give a child pornography, right? Children are very, very impressionable, and it is obvious that video games and Youtubing along with that is warping their minds a bit. For many of us in our upper teens and twenties, this wasn't as much as a problem due to games being more of a niche. Problem is now though, you have 8 year olds cursing and saying horrible things because they either saw someone play or played a game that gave the idea that that behavior is socially acceptable. As for violence, I think the factors differ from person to person, so it likely has a connection to how the child is raised or any mental conditions they may have.

Anyway, the age ratings are there for a reason, and it should be followed as such, regardless of whether the parents want the child to or not.

If I remeber correctly games rated 18+ must show a drivers licence before they are allowed to purchase the game at a store. So theres that, the real issue is when parent buy games rated 18+ for their kids. So it really has nothing to do with the gaming industry its all the parents.
And I think there is alot of kid friendly games on the Wii and DS.

Nah. I was playing grand theft auto since I was like 7 years old. And I turned out all right.

I may have hi-jacked a car, and accidentally killed someone with my extensive knowledge of weaponry, but you know, all is well.
