Hmm, I couldn't find a single image close to it from star wars though. Particularly, the bottom section, the guy holding the girl and a sword pointed at the screen. Their expressions are familiar.

It might be overly used also, that is a possibility.

Blondie, yea.

Do you know where the bottom section comes from? I already know it's not star wars. Guy holding sword/girl pointed at screen.

Galaxy Express 999, Captain Harlock, et al from that particular universe probably.

It's probably multiple references, and some of those, like the golem that the kids are piloting hearkens back to something else I can't put my finger on, and the top portion, the girl in the kimono, with the red eyed children behind it makes me think you might want to check out some horror anime titles a la hell girl (but it isn't hell girl. just saying, horror of a traditional japanese flair.

The wooden mecha might be a reference to the one in Robot Carnival?

Have to agree that it looks to be a mix of several. Star Wars and the children look like Children of the Damned or Village of the Dammed, can't remember the exact title.

i think a mixture of things...

looks like Gurren Lagann in the controlled wooden mecha thing. Terminator eye on the left. that little woman looks like the witch from Spirited away.
