Koyasu (Akikan!, GJ Club, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan: Demon Capital) himself will be supervising and writing the series scripts. Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shufuku o! Alternate World Comedy Light Novels Get TV Anime ANN NEWS

Natsume Akatsuki's story of shut-in transported to another world with a goddess

Kadokawa's Sneaker Bunko imprint announced that a television anime adaptation of Natsume Akatsuki's o! light novel series has been green-lit. Takaomi Kanasaki (Tokyo Ravens, Is This a Zombie?) is directing at Studio DEEN. Makoto Uezu (Is This a Zombie?, The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero) is in charge of the series scripts, and Koichi Kikuta (animation director on episodes of Robotics;Notes, Haikyu!!) is designing the characters.

The popular "alternate world home comedy" centers around Kazuma Satō, a hikikomori (shut-in) die-hard fan of games, anime, and manga. A traffic accident brings his disappointingly brief life to an end … or it should have, but he wakes up and sees a beautiful girl who introduces herself as a goddess. "Hey, I have some good news — would you like to go to an alternate world? You may only bring one thing you like with you."

He responds, "…So, I'll bring you." With that, he is transported to another world and his great adventure subjugating the demon king begins … but first the hard work of finding food, clothing, and shelter begins. Kazuma wants to live in peace, but the goddess raises one problem after another, and then the demon king's army has its eyes set on him.

Akatsuki launched the light novel series with illustrations by Kurone Mishima (The Devil is a Part-Timer! High School! (manga) in 2013, and Kadokawa published the sixth volume in February. It already inspired a Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen o! spinoff novel series, and Masahito Watari launched a manga adaptation of the original novels in Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine last September.

The third spinoff novel volume will bundle an original drama CD on June 1. It will feature Ryota Ohsaka as Kazuma (pictured far left in image below), Kaori Fukuhara as the goddess and Ark Priest Aqua (pictured far right), Maaya Uchida as the brilliant Ark Wizard Megumin (pictured center right), and Marina Inoue as the Crusader Dakunesu

Drifters Manga by Hellsing's Hirano Has Anime in the Works ANN News

Kouta Hirano's action story already inspired 2012 anime short
The May issue of Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine is announcing on Monday that an anime adaptation of Kouta Hirano's Drifters manga is in the works.

The story of the manga centers around Shimazu Toyohisa, the real-life samurai who fought in the pivotal Battle of Sekigahara. In his dying moments, Shimazu is transported to a world of magic with other famous warriors throughout history. These warriors are forced to fight each other in an endless battle.

The manga already inspired a short that was bundled with the 10th and final volume of the Hellsing Ultimate video anime series in 2012. (Hirano created the original Hellsing action manga, just as he did for Drifters.) Ryoji Nakamori (Hellsing Ultimate) supervised the animation in this short with two veterans of Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa, technical director Kazuya Miura and animation director Masayori Komine. Yasushi Ishii composed the music after working on the Hellsing television series and the Darker than Black anime.

Dark Horse publishes both the Drifters manga and the Hellsing manga in North America. Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. once distributed both Hellsing anime, but Funimation Entertainment then picked up the licenses.

Paradise of Innocence Manga Removed From Amazon Japan ANN NEWS

Manga about man who goes back in time, meets girls in elementary school has 2nd OVA scheduled AUGUST

Amazon Japan is no longer listing print editions of Uran's Mujaki no Rakuen (Paradise of Innocence) manga. The website still lists Kindle editions of volumes 2-4, but the listings state that the volumes are currently unavailable for purchase. The manga is still listed for sale on Hakusensha's online store and Rakuten.

In the popular "nostalgic & innocent story," Shōta is sent back in time to his elementary school days via a mysterious school pool. He sees Konomi-chan, a girl who would eventually become a nationally popular actress, and other cute girls when they were innocent and defenseless.

Uran launched the manga in Hakusensha's Young Animal Arashi magazine in 2011. An original anime DVD adaptation was bundled with a limited edition of the manga's sixth volume in August 2014, and a second OVA is scheduled to ship with the limited edition of the eighth volume on August 28.

Amazon previously removed the Imōto Paradise! 2 manga from its Kindle store in May 2014 after the Tokyo Metropolitan Government had ruled that same week that the book was considered an "unhealthy publication."

Imōto Paradise! 2 was designated under the revised Youth Healthy Development Ordinance due to its “glorification of incestuous acts.” The publication was the first to be formally restricted as such by the government since Bill 156 went into effect in July of 2011.

The revised Youth Healthy Development Ordinance expanded the number of manga and anime that fall under "harmful publications," the legal category of works that must not be sold or rented to people under the age of 18. Erotic material was already restricted before the amendment, but the amended law also restricts the sales and renting of materials that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government considers "to be excessively disrupting of social order."

"Ajin: Demi-Human"

Manga Gets Anime Film Trilogy Gamon Sakurai's action-packed series to be animated Joseph Luster / CR NEWS

Gamon Sakurai's Ajin: Demi-Human manga, which is published in North America by Vertical, is animated enough on the page, but its action will be making its way to the big screen next. The series runs in Kodansha's good! Afternoon magazine, and the cover of the July issue is announcing an adaptation in the form of three anime films.

If you haven't had a chance to check out Ajin yet, it's highly recommended. The first volume was written by Tsuina Miura, and illustrated by Sakurai, but Sakurai is solely credited after that. His art is rad and the way he illustrates action is top notch.

Here's the synopsis from Crunchyroll's page:

Seventeen years ago, an utterly immortal human was discovered on an African battlefield. Since then, more of these new and unknown life forms began to appear among mankind. These undying beings start to be known as "demi-humans." One day, just before summer break, a Japanese boy leaving his high school is involved in a traffic accident that kills him on the spot. Then, he comes back to life. A huge bounty is placed on his capture. Now the boy's attempt to evade all of mankind begins.

Noragami's 2nd Season Title, Fall Premiere, New Visual Unveiled ANN News

Noragami Aragato to adapt popular arc from Adachitoka's manga

The July issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine is unveiling the title, premiere timeframe, and a new teaser visual of the second Noragami television anime season on June 6. Noragami Aragato will premiere this fall. The cast will appear at a Noragami Aragato event in Tokyo on August 8.

The new season will adapt the manga's popular Bishamon arc and will reunite the staff and cast from the first season based on Adachitoka's manga:

Funimation streamed the first season as it aired in Japan last year, and describes the story:

Yato may just be a minor god now, but he's determined to make it big and he's got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don't seem to be going his way. He doesn't have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he's got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
Funimation scheduled the first season's DVD and Blu-ray Disc release in North America for this summer. Kodansha Comics published the fourth manga volume in North America in April.
