I read that manga not too long ago, on a "dare" from my sister. I found it amusing defensively, rather than disturbing
You did remind me of that chapter, so I looked it up and it was near the end of chapter 5. Probably best not to link, in case it re-awakens any nightmares one may have.

Oh, I definitely found it disturbing. I mean, it has been years since I read it but I remember some of the images vividly. You're right that it's best not to link it. If folks want to go look for themselves that's another matter.

So for whatever reason, this episode held my attention better than the first two. Maybe it was the lack of rotoscoping scenes. If there were any, then I missed them because I was interested in the story. Feels like it's starting to develop the deeper story. Poor kids.

I like this show. It manages to create a very creepy mood through its great use of both sound (especially this episode, damn) and striking visuals. Definitely worth watching.

Episode 3: Return

And this is why I hate the ocean. I swear you can never know what's there and you aren't fast or strong enough to fight or swim away either.

However, regarding this episode, I really enjoyed it. It was a creepy jellyfish but it was a pretty intense episode. I want to know the process in which they were turned into that jellyfish though. Nice spin on a love story.

KAGEWANI Episode 3 / Return

It's starting to get interesting / the one shortfall nothing seems to be going forward until the Black Liquid connection ! This is like another movie / anine homage FIrst Pacific Rim ( Kaiju ) with the fissure in the oceam combined with the ( Gauna ) Knights of Sidomia by asborbing people!

Watching this by the ocean(beach) was not a good idea lolol. A were-jellyfish, well that's something new, and creative, nice.

Looks like a ninja turtle escaped. Lol jk pretty intense episode, and maybe plot? Hopefully he finally gets some characterization.

Damn this show does suspense well, I was way too on edge than I should be, was without a doubt expecting one of the brothers dying, lol phew, they got lucky. Love when the ED kicks in, although it was used as well this episode, but it def sets the ending tone. Hoping the over-arching plot is about to kick in.

Don't flush turtles into possible radioactive sewers(?)....I feel most of this monsters might be mutation gone awry. There really haven't been an indication of radiation or wrong mutation happening, but since some of these monsters have characteristics of their normal counterpart in their environment, it could be a possibility.

Love the appearance of the suave corporate villain in the white suit (sporting it in the middle of a sewer no less, lol). Now we see where this is going. Also love Gamera jr. but it was kinda silly when he was crawling on the ceiling. But great episode all around. And as usual, the music is totally on point.

great episode very suspenseful and using the drone camera with the boys looking at cell phone that film style is done today in scifi dramas very nice. I like that MC is finally on the scene of a monster visual I was glad kids survived wasn't sure for 7 minutes I was sweating

Wow, that was a great episode. Not just a monster-of-the-week. Lots of suspense that literally had me sitting on edge, and plot development to boot.

Episode 5: Strange Colour

Oh my frogger is getting serious over here. I like how the plot slowly reveals itself after each episode. Even if it is a monster of a week type of thing I am enjoying it a lot. The suspense is done really well.

The title reminded me of the Lovecraft story A Colour Out of Space but I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. This series is great suspense and I'm really enjoying.

Idle thoughts about this ep: I guess they don't have panic buttons in Japanese convenience stores? Also: how much money does a conbini manager make if his gf is just with him for his money?
