I had just repelled down a slope, and when I looked up at my coworker I thought, "Oh, my God. I work for the Survey Corps."

Anyone else experience something like this at work or anywhere?

Before digging into some hibachi chicken and veges not too long ago, I sat down picked up my chopsticks and said 'itadakimaaasu'... needless to say, a few heads turned with looks of bewilderment.

I've had a moment where it should have been in an anime: sword fighting with dried bull penises with my boss/friend.

Having worked in the fast food industry for too long, I have a lot of The Devil is a Part Timer moments.

It's these little moments that make you think; I have so much more fun in life because I watch anime.

This wasn't necessarily at work, but it happened at school after swim practice. We were all in the locker room drying off and I overheard a conversation happening between my teammates. All of the sudden she said, "I only swim free", with a flat tone and no expression on her face and I started to laugh like an idiot. Everyone gave me a weird look but no one understood that she sounded just like Haru from Free! (I'm the only otaku on our team so it's not like they would have understood anyway haha.)

Having anime in my life really does make life more fun ^.^

I guess the closest was on my work experience. One of the women employed there, as she was leaving, left a newspaper on my desk and grinned. Little did I know it was one with a page 3 girl in it with her boobs out. I don't know, I guess I could see that happening in an anime. My friend's foot also fell through the floor so that was funny.

I started a job online recently that does publicity for novels. I'm currently in school for professional writing and I have to do some field placement to graduate and my sister said she knew someone in the publishing industry.
So I contacted her contact and she said she would assign me some tasks and if I did well enough, she would hire me at the end of the placement. After two weeks of "trials" I had met neither my boss nor any of my co-workers in person even though they had an office. They kept assigning me to sum up workshop seminars for the boss instead of handling copy-editing or anything else I had gone to school for.
I kept my cool and continued bringing it up in the e-mails we were sending back and forth. They kept saying they were too busy to have me come in to see the office but they were extremely happy with what I had written for them on the seminars.
Finally I convinced them to go grab a coffee with me on the weekend just to meet face to face, it wasn't even a work thing I just wanted to end the ambiguity that surrounded everything.
So you can imagine my surprise when I show up to the coffee shop and hear my name called from a table full of girls. I stood there confused for about 5 seconds before realizing they were my co-workers.
I knew my boss was female but I had no idea that literally everyone else was. They all had bi-gender names and I was contacting them through e-mails, so maybe a bit sexist of me, I subconsciously assumed they were all dudes.
So they all jump up and offer me a hug like I'm an old friend or something and everyone in the coffee shop is looking at me with daggers in their eyes like I'm an asshole.
And that's not even the best part.
Because my sister had referred me to this job, I didn't actually know what type of literature they assisted with. They had sent me a few samples of romance literature but they were all from the same author so I assumed it was all work that was related to just one client.
Nope.
Their genre of specialty was erotica. Full on, kinky B.D.S.M. stuff and beyond.
At that moment, all I could think was: "Seriously? This is happening?"
I'm now four weeks into the job and they're sending me notes about how they want to dress me up in a cowboy outfit and tie me to a chair.
They actually sent me, and my professor acting as a field placement supervisor, a waiver to sign saying it was okay.
And their office? It's the boss' apartment. Complete with posters on the wall and couches I can only assume they acquired from a garage sale.
I told them I'd work out of my dorm.

Always feel like Misaki when I work at the card shop. We just need a cat.

The closest thing to an anime moment I had was at school. We were down in our little room in the library basement. I don't know why, but nobody uses that room so we always gather there.

I was sewing loose buttons back onto my jacket.

My friend was doing some sort of exercise.

Another guy was drinking tea and eating crackers while reading.

Yet another friend was sleeping on a table.

Nobody was talking. Felt like one of those high school student council/club room things for a moment. I wondered out loud what would happen if a professor or librarian walked in at that moment and we all laughed.

I sometimes imagine my boss as one of those anime guys who never opens his eyes and has a bandage on his face for no reason.
