Sunglasses YES , sunglasses lens are actually very technical to craft.. cheap crap for $10 bucks is just crap i.e. the frame is too heavy, the lens isn't 100% UV, it's sprayed on colors with a film etc.

a good brand is ray ban aviators which still utilizes glass lenses. Most sunglasses even sometimes designer, uses plastic lenses which mean it's harder to see clearly through them.

I think people shouldn't crap out on paying for eye protection... you get what you pay for

I think it kind of depends on your social group. Personally, among my friends; everyones in designer. Not like crazy designer but like $800-2000 outfits is the norm. I also have friends who's entire circle is made up of people in non-designer clothing and their perfectly comftorable with it. What I thnk it comes down to is what yer comftorable with spending on designer items. I personally buy designer clothes alot more than other high end brands. My phone case is twelve south surface pad so it's more for cosmetics than anything.

I understand purchasing certain, pricier brands for their quality. But most "designer" items aren't particularly better than their cheaper counterparts. Take purses for example. So many women covet designer bags. They aren't anything special though. If anything they're just a statement that "I'm trendy and I have lots of money to spend on expensive things".

Btw, does anyone know where I can find some nice anime t-shirts by an american distributor?
I'm looking for something with a "different" kind of design, like these 2 that CR is selling:

These are pretty nice t-shirts but I'm not a KanColle fan.

On topic: I like designer brands because they do something "unique". But I wouldn't spend too much money on it.

Generally it really depends on the product but i would say the reason some brands are more expensive are due to the quality of the materials they're made with. Generally you get what you pay for in this day n age for most things, altho clothing except for work clothing generally can be hyped up.

I'm not a fashion slave neither do I want to be a walking advertisement. I'm not paying for nor purposely seeking out brand names if I can help it. Should I end up with any that are branded, that product will have to have discrete branding.

I'm a bit of a sucker for Superdry. Their coats fit me very well in size and style. They are durable and easy to take care of. I recognized the quality and comfort and attention to detail first, then started to become a bit attached to the brand. Friends and people I see repeatedly have started associating me with the brand.

I don't buy Superdry to collect clothes, but when I do need clothes, I am more likely to look at Superdry first. I like to wait until there is a discount, which makes the clothing well worth it for that price range. Ill-fitting, generic, flimsy US jacket with impossible sizing for $50? Or a nicely-fitted, uniquely designed, rugged Superdry jacket for $70? The choice is clear. Even if getting one Superdry merely saves me the hassle of buying two inferior articles, the price alone would justify getting the Superdry.

I do check their new products sometimes (I ONLY check Superdry, actually) but I only buy when there's a sale.

I'm not too sure about their other stuff, but I do vouch for the quality of their jackets and coats.

Uh Hmm. The only thing I really care for as in designer stuff is my business suits and shoes. Purses? Not really.

There are some obvious exceptions. I do believe that higher quality items are worth more, but dear God, some of those prices, what, are they dipping them in Gold? Getting the materials from the moon? For example, crap like clothes, phones, earphones/headphones etc. I'd never pay the higher quality prices when the cheaper ones work just as long and nearly as good. $10 for SONY earphones or $50+ for Apple earphones when they work almost the exact same. People get sucked in way too easily these days because of brand name.

Ya you can think of it like cultural capital. There's also peer pressure and media factors as well.

It depends on the quality of the item you purchase for me. If the designer item I need or want to buy justifies the high price and not just the label, I'd go for it. Obviously, if the item is in my financial possibilities to buy it.

Old Navy and Hot Topic is my designer fashion. Now if it beautiful, I am willing to drop five hundred dollars on a bag.

I'm a bag slut.

Sunglasses are used for eye protection. It is very difficult to say whether cheap sunglasses will harm you or not it can happen that cheap sunglass are sometimes preferred. I got the best sunglasses from sunglasses in bulk as it is the largest online supplier of sunglasses all over, it also helps in selecting the prescribed or unprescribed sunglasses.

yeah, or so we hope for (unless you know that brand is about quality in those areas either tech, material, comfort etc).

It depends what you're talking about. I do believe that in a lot of cases, price reflects on the quality. I'll spend a few hundreds more on things that I know will last longer, such as electronics, bags, shoes and clothes. There also a part of me who's bias towards some brands so I'll buy if I like it.
