I don't care about designer clothes. I don't understand clothes most of the time. I just need a formula that works.

Often my sisters and Mother help me make sure I'm not walking out of the house looking like a moron whenever I try a new equation of clothing. I often can't tell what looks 'right' or 'wrong' when it comes to clothing.

There's a reason I mostly stick to professional blacks. You normally can't fuck it up.

Considering I can't tell any difference, no I don't think so. They look exactly the bloody same except in really small print they've got some random person's name on. And I really don't give a shit who Louis Vouton or any other self-centered twat is.

Honestly that comes down to several things.

1) If the look or name is important to you personally then yes the mark-up is worth it. A personal feeling makes it worth the price.

2) The item itself. If you do a lot of research you can learn that many times certain items like cars or jeans you find out that designer name means very very little. Good example Lucky Brand Jeans are around $100 but they are only 98% denim and 2% other fabric. Not a big deal until you realize that the way they wash and prepare the denim lessens the life span. Compare that to Unbranded which is raw denim and will cost you $80 or even Levi's costing $50 for raw denim that has double to triple the lifespan. Cars are another good example, a Volkswagon has the same engine and frame and build as a BMW and Audi, just lacks the little tech upgrades. But the tech upgrades actually break down faster causing an increase in maintenance cost so why buy the more expensive car? A little research goes a long way and can save you a lot of money but as I said in number 1 if its important to you then its worth the mark up.in cost.

3) The durability and lasting power. Some items, say Under Armour for example, are upped in price but will out last their competition big time. Good example is Underwear produced by Under Armour. You pay $20 a pop for one as a guy but it will last you 2-3 years before getting a hole even with constant use. So you paid $20 for one pair instead of 3 for $10 from another brand at Target that will die within 3-4 months and require replacing. That means you'd spend about $120 over the same span of time you'd spend $60 on the higher quality product. You spent half the amount you could have buy paying for the mark up and it was likely more comfortable

4) Comfort. Higher quality products are often made form better fabrics which are more comfortable and if that comfort is worth it to you then yes the mark up is worth it.

and 5) The quality of lesser competitors. I believe 100% you get what you pay for with certain things. Computers are a good example. Buy a $250 laptop and you'll have an outdated laptop that will last a year or two before being completely obsolete. Buy a $2500 laptop and it will last you 5-6 years before becoming even outdated (barring some major breakthrough).

Hope this helps!

in my opinion it's not about the brand, but where it was made. something made in like china or taiwan is less likely to last as long as something from say italy or the usa.

Well if I want nice shoes, I wouldn't want cheap quality shoes. But some brands are trash. It just depends. I go for what looks nice.
