Outtakes included? Insanity. One time I thought about ranking all the songs off of Springsteen's 18 studio albums, but it was difficult to decide where his newer songs fit amongst his more classic stuff.

Ehh its a tough challenge. I honestly think I could rate all the Big Black songs since they only had 4 eps, 2 studio albums, and a couple of compilation releases and singles.

The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen are the only artists that I could probably manage pulling together a top 100 for.

It'd be pretty fun to do one for bands with less than 50 songs, like Velvet Underground, Arcade Fire, and Vampire Weekend.

I think I could put together a top 100 best songs for Swans. They haven't ever released a bad album just a single one that was mediocre.

Alright top 10 VU songs lets go!

1. Waiting for my Man
2. Venus in Furs
3. Sister Ray
4. Heroin
6. Pale Blue Eyes
7. Heard Her Call my name
8. All tomorrows parties.
9. Sweet Jane
10. Lady Godivas operation

Honestly White light/White Heat always felt a bit weaksauce to me in comparison to shit like Heard her Call my name. Venus in furs is always one of my favorites cause it sounds so unique among there discography. Lady Godivas operation is probably the closest to it but that track always came of as both more abrasive and more melodic thanks to the fuzzed out instrumentation and Cales singing.

I was always fascinated by the song. Its really the only VU song you could draw back to Reeds personal life. Its hard not to see a connection between a lobotomy on a transgender women and the electroshock therapy Reeds parents put him through to "cure" his bisexuality.

Ever heard the venus in furs demo with cale on vocals sounds completely different more mysterious than the somewhat threatening tone of the origanal

I didn't really like it at all, but it was interesting. Another piece of their history.
