A big part of what makes America is that its a melting pot - which means it includes ALL races, and that, it doesn't matter what race u r - ur still an american. I guess it depends on ur point of view though, whether u consider urself an American or not. But race certaintly has nothing to do w/ it -Hell, I'm Mexican, hispanic, french, apache and mountain *of course these two I guess don't count since it's native American*, dutch, irish, etc.

Of course it goes against the constitution. I mean, I know that there are like terrorists out there, and I think they are the worst people ever, but this isn't the way to go at it. I mean, that's kind of what they wanted right, to get people to lose their basic freedoms. I mean if they come on over here, I'll be happy to fight, but losing our rights for something like that.
I remember what Benjamin Franklin said about this, "If you take away freedom for the sake of security, then you deserve neither."

haha i did a report on this last semester for sociology. the patriot act is so unconstitutional, it violates not only the 1st and 4th Amendments, but also the
6th (Right to a speedy public trial by an impartial jury, right to be informed of the facts of the accusation, right to confront witnesses and have the assistance of counsel),
8th (No excessive bail or cruel and unusual punishment shall be imposed), and
14th Amendments (All persons within the United States are entitled to due process and the equal protection of the laws)

In case you are new to this, there has been a Act that allowed the government to go against the First Amendment rights, like freedom of speech. I also forgot to mention that it goes against the Fourth Amendment. Any opinions?

*i did not do this*
*my brother begged me to do it*

So...how much of the actual Constitution is TRULY followed anyway? About 5%. Everything written in the Constitution has been jerked over so much, it's as if the document was never written as a basic guideline for the law at all. It's as if someone found a really good story from that year and decided it would make a great historical artifact.

I am an American, and I have served in the military, and what the US government has done to the Constitution and what it is SUPPOSED to do for Americans is out right DISGUSTING. Freedom of speech; freedom of religion; freedom to bear arms; freedom from taxation; freedom to defend your home and family against an intruder who may wish to kill you....uh-huh...and when do we actually GET to do this? Say something against someone and you're arrested for verbal assalut and/or defamation of character. Tell someone you're Muslim or Buddist and you'll get ostracized. Put a gun in the trunk of your car and get stopped during a routine traffic check, and you're fined out the wah-zoo or arrested for concealing a firearm, which, incidentally, you can't carry on yur person. Refuse to pay the illegal taxes and your ass goes to jail...do not pass go, do not collect $200.00 and there is no GET OUT OF JAIL FREE cards in the real game of life...unless you're a politician, who was the ones that F***ED over the Consitution in the first place. Defend yourself against someone and injure or kill them...you go to jail. Period. So where does the Constitution fit in with all this? Hardly anywhere, other than in that nice little case it's displayed in. The DREAM lives, but the actuality of it died a long, long time ago.

Ok...I'm off the soap box again...sorry.....
