Maybe around 9 or 10? I'd seen Naruto on the TV a couple of times and AMVs which I quite enjoyed, and one day I picked up Naruto Ultimate Ninja 1 on the PS2 and got quite into it. I struggled to access anime for a while since I didn't know of watching it on the internet until I reached 13 and I watched Elfen Lied, so that was morbid. I then didn't really watch much because I had my brother on his PC in the same room and speakers so I'd technically be broadcasting what I was watching throughout the house and annoying everyone. Then when I was 15 I got a new PC, had it placed in my bedroom, got some headphones and I watch it to my heart's content. So technically I got into it at around 9 or 10 years old, but it wasn't until I was 15 that I actually started to have a decent chance to access it.

I was 34.

I watched Voltron as a kid, and so a few episodes of Pokemon and Yi Gi Oh when I was in grad school (my now-wife and I used to watch Sat morn cartoons sometimes back when we were still dating), but I didn't really love any of it. Then a couple years ago I was curious about the world of anime and manga outside of kids shows, giant robots, and porn. I quickly found a few seinen romance manga I loved, but it took awhile to find anime that really caught my eye.

I think the first series that I liked was Akeniero Soma ni Somaru Saka ; the first that I really liked was Myself; Yourself ; and the one that made me fall in love with the genre (and what it had to offer that was completely different from Hollywood) was Usagi Drop.

The first anime I watched was Digimon, I think. But I didn't really get interested in the anime genre until I watched the film Ghost in the Shell when I was 19 and then I discovered anime series when I first binged on Chobits when I was 23.

i think i got into it when I was 12 but i did it to catch up on naruto. I felt the anime was a little slow so i picked up manga. In fact i am more a manga (and also light novel) fan than I am anime fan. I got back into anime when i was around 15-16 and around 18 i started obsessing over the schedule on anichart.

I grew up with it, though I really got into it around 12 or something...I think.

Anime related stuff ( DBZ, Pokemon, Yugi-oh) was really popular when I was a tot. I remember going to daycare at like 4 and everyone bringing their yugi-oh cards for battles and the like.

I discovered anime when I was around 3-5. Pokemon was my first anime I think. Then I got into anime at either 6-7 because of DBZ and others on Toonami. When my house had DirecTV, Cartoon Network and Toonami became my sources of anime until it was cancelled. I relied on Saturday morning cartoons on FoxKids and 4Kids(?) for watching anime. For manga, I was around 9-10 when I got an issue of Shonen Jump from the Scholastic Book catalog. Then I really became interested in anime sometime after I got internet around 12ish. Naruto, Rave Master, and Gundam SEED were some of the anime I watched online.

My first exposure to anime was when I was little. Maybe I was around the ages of 6 to 8 years old. I woke up in the early hours of the morning and I couldn't sleep. My favorite cartoons were on Cartoon Network at this age so when I turned on the TV and didn't see Cartoon Network but something called Adult Swim, I got pretty curious. The shows that were on were Inuyasha and Yu Yu Hakusho.

But, I think I really got into anime around ages 10 through 12 with Toonami being the main provider of shows like Gundam, Zatch Bell, Dragon Ball, DBZ, Naruto and Bleach.

I remember watching Detective Conan when I was really little but I only started watching anime probably in 6th or 7th grade so I was around 13 or so.

Junior High School with Star Blazers (I'm in my late 40's), That's when I officially became a fan.

Although I watched Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets when I was in grade school.
