I think I was 7 years old. I was a Pokemon addict at the time. But half the time I didn't even know what the hell was going on, I just liked the big eyes, and vibrant colors.

I watched Pokemon. Dragon Ball, etc. growing up, but I don't count that.

I didn't discover what anime really was until I was 19. That was when I began to watch it seriously.

I think I was 5-6 when I first encountered anime. I mean, I technically grew up watching anime.

Oh gosh, I was VERY young. Like elementary school young when Sailor Moon and Pokemon were just coming out. But I actually didn't know they were 'anime' until I started to buy the Inu Yasha DVDs at Suncoast and this girl who was working there introduced me to other shows and taught me about anime. Before that, I just thought they were better, more kick ass, versions of cartoons. I didn't know there was a difference...and by that time I was already watching quite a bit of anime like Blue Gender, Gundam Wing, DBZ, Wolf's Rain, Digimon, and other anime titles..... I just didn't know they were anime.

I'm really thankful to have met that girl who worked at Suncoast.

Well, if you count not knowing it was anime that would be Star Blazers back when I was... 9. And suddenly I feel old. V.V

Knowing it was anime would have been Ranma 1/2 when I was 19.

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one.

Can beat that, I was 50. My daughter, a Bleach fan, showed me the trailer to High School of the Dead, I watched the whole thing before she even got round to it herself.

Anime turned out to be more addictive than crack. I've watched over 300 series in the last 5 years, far more than she has now :D

that's actually really amazing how'd you have time to watch all that lol

A little after I was 21 I believe when I started watching anime.

I don't count watching Naruto in High school because I was naive at the time and didn't even consider it anime at the time. I acknowledge me watching anime on CR & Netflix after I was 21.

It was somewhere between 3 and 7 when I watched shows like Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z on TV and I have watched other anime since then.

Really, I've only been getting really into anime in the last year or so, though I've been watching a series or two here and there since I was about fifteen. It's been pretty neat getting into more and more with every series I watch. Still a little shy when it come to actally talking to other people who are into it because I feel like I know so little in comparison, but I'm getting there.

I was just lucky and had a lot of time on my hands.

I spent 3 years looking after my invalid father in law and between cleaning & feeding him he spent most of his time sleeping or listening to his TV. I had to be near all the time but I kept myself sane by marathoning anime series on my laptop, sometimes late into the night/early morning.

Even after he died & I went back to my job I still watch 5-6 series as they stream each week so each season that count is still rising. I don't watch live TV at all now

I was about 4 or 5.

I was in an after-school program back in kindergarten, when someone brought a VHS of the first few episodes of Pokemon. Ever since I've been a big Pokemon fan, as well as watching whatever came on 4kids or Fox, like Yugioh or Digimon.

Once Toonami and Adult Swim came, I got into stuff like Gundam, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshen, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc. I remember as a kid, me and my sister would record episodes on VHS'. We'd even rent a few anime videos, like Fushigi Yuugi (Which my sister was really into.)

When I was 10, I read my first manga, which was volume 15 of Ranma 1/2. I found it at one of our local libraries, surprisingly enough, and because huge into Ranma, and would buy nearly every volume from Borders.

There was a point during middle school where I stopped watching anime, which was when Naruto and Bleach was getting popular, so I missed than boat. I got back into anime in high school after watching Death Note, and decided to look for anime online.

4ish?. Astroboy / Robotech / Voltron.

When I was 9 I was sleeping over at a friend's house and we were up late, being noisy brats. So his dad came downstairs with a VHS, put it in the VCR and told us to shut up.

It was Akira.

Scarred us for life but we had to have more. Vampire Hunter D, Windara, Bubble Gum Crisis, etc. All the early dubs you'd find at any given video store. Stuffed in a corner somewhere by a confused clerk that wasn't sure if they were suppose to be with the cartoons or not.

Then there was Samurai Pizza Cats, Sailor Moon and Dragonball on YTV. <3
