So I hope I don't get hate for this... But One Piece, I believe is one of the best series of all time... But I have some major concerns. I feel like ever since the new world the show has just gotten sloppy. Episodes are much less substance and it doesn't provide the same feel. I hate to say it but I almost don't consider the newest stuff One Piece anymore...
I disagreed with the complaints I heard from people about most characters looking lame. But now I agree. Everyone but Luffy and Usopp has changed in both personality and appearance. Brook is okay, but now he only comes in to talk about panties.. Franky shows up to scream super and have a really strange hair doo. Sanji and Zoro don't go at it as much as they used too... and Nami and robin don't even feel like they matter anymore. They're their to have their bodies on display.. Chopper I feel like is still pretty similar but again other than that.. Luffy is still Luffy (Thank god.)

The development of the crew has not shown me they've grown it seems to me things have gotten lazier, and honestly dull. It is still one of my favorites and I'll watch every episode that comes out but I truly feel they're losing the magic.

Does anyone agree? It pains me because I am 23 now. And the entire first half the show had me at tears left and right. I still laugh and love it.. but I feel my emotional attachment fading, and not because I am getting older.. =/ Sorry if I offend anyone. I know this show is quite loved.

nah, you're not growing up, the quality is going down, I felt the same after the sabaody arc and marineford, of course TOEI fucked up one piece in such a bad way but still its not the same as it used to be and you're hearing this from a guy that watches one piece since it was first broadcasted in tv

I still like one piece of course, one of my fav, but its not the same as it used to be

I feel like they're afraid of providing that cheesy overly dreamy vibe... But that's what made it so unbelievable. There was nothing but courage in the production of that anime. EVERYTHING was pure emotion. It was almost seemingly childish but somehow was an all ages masterpiece. I don't know what to say about it... But they better freaking fix it...

I can best compare it to old video games. Even though they weren't good production quality to the max, something about them was so full of heart.

There's nothing wrong with panties. That's the only reason I like Brook, and with Ussop, I just hope he dies..

Isn't there anything WE can do as the people who loved it for so many years? Can we somehow contact the people involved and express our concerns... You can't tell me the people who work on that anime wouldn't understand something that came from the heart.

Haha, you think that people in the industry care about anything besides money, that's cute

Yep, a lot of your complaints are valid and I don't think that this is an unpopular oppinion at all, in fact most people would probably agree with it. Of course One Piece still has a very loyal fanbase that worship everything that Oda does, I mean I wrote a relatively negative review on it for MAL and I got multiple messages afterwards telling me to go and suck a donkey's dick, but I feel like it's constantly growing smaller and smaller as the drop of quality since the timeskip is even apparent to most hardcore fans and many One Piece fans are growing up over the years and thus become more critical in general, as you do with time. It also doesn't help that the Anime makes everything worse with its bad production and drop dead pace. It's like Toei isn't even trying anymore.

Anyway, I have voiced my complaints about One Piece multiple times, I don't think it's very good, but it's not like I am gonna stop watching it. They got us by the balls and they know it.

Typically artists are childish, and do care about the show. And it japan it is considered honorable to CARE about your work. Maybe these people don't but culturally they should.

The only thing that I noticed is the slowing of pace which is like that so not to get ahead of the manga I love it just as much as I always have maybe more.

One Piece was one of my gateway into anime and, to this day, it's still one of my favorite manga. Sure it may have lost some of its charm over the years, but that's usually what happens with any series that's been running for 15+ years.

The anime however...well let's just say that it's clear that Toei is aware that they're adapting one of Japan's best selling manga and that people will still watch it no matter how cheaply it's made and how slow the pacing is.

They occasionally deliver some solid animation, but generally it's obvious they're spending as little money as possible.

Because of that, I don't think I can recommand anyone to sit through its 600+ episodes in good conscience
