Yay another classical music thread..Although there's one already so I'm not whether or not this will be locked.
But anyway to stay on topic - Rachmaninoff has always been a favourite of mine. His piano concertos are just absolutely amazing and I really want to be able to perform one of his pieces with a proper orchestra someday ^^
Chopin is another one of my favourites.

*EDIT: Just for future reference, here's the other classical music thread.

^ I think they're similar. I have a funny feeling you fell in love with Rachmaninoff's concerto in Nodame Cantabile, huh? :P

EDIT:
Hmm... thread title was changed. Perhaps the other thread was about recommendations. :P

Oh well, my favorite is, hands down, Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. I was surprised with their rendition in Nodame Cantabile, because the piano concerto was replaced with piano flutes... but it was an interesting version.

Rachmaninoff was amazingly talented. He really was something else, I've heard that his huge handspan contributed considerably to the difficulty of his pieces? Any truth in this or just rumour?

@edsamac: I take that offensively ^^ What do you take me for?
I was first introduced to Rachmaninoff at the tender age of 8. I went to a concert and when his piano concerto - Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini - was played I loved it so much I started crying. I had a book of his music manuscripts but I have not been brave enough to look through them yet.

Don't underestimate me on classical music knowledge ed haha..You will lose ^^

*EDIT: Talk about being arrogant =D I sound rather up myself there..oops ^^

^ I was joking, and I know your knowledge in classical music is rather formidable.

I like Sibelius, guess its also got something to do with national pride, but some of his pieces are so beautiful.
