Who knew a social media app filled with prepubescent assholes could be linked to people getting depression.

Does that mean that Community Managers get free therapy & anti-depression drugs as part of their job when they have to check their enterprise's Facebook page? Because that's a guaranteed depression for anyone!

Isolation leads to depression. Facebook is linked to isolation. Bytes is not the same as human contact. More people isolate themselves now that they are granted the illusion of being in touch with other people. I just wanted to point out how they make it sound like Facebook is the cause for depression. It isn't. Facebook is just a medium.

Isolation leads to happiness for me.....being around people every day now that is why i have clinical depression.

Isolation doesn't help social creatures like most humans are but for those of us who are the opposite of a social person well it helps you feel amazing :D

Isolation shouldn't be given the bad rep that it gets honestly spend a while inside your house with no one but people over the internet to talk to.
It makes you feel confident and happy

I believe it. I only have Facebook [unless YouTube counts too] and I use it mostly to keep up to date with anime, read Cracked.com articles, and talk to my pagan friends. But I'm only on for maybe a half an hour a day. It gets really boring and repetitive after that. In theory it keeps us connected but too many people abuse it and/or use it to get 15 minutes of fame. I've got many friends who live far away, but most people should drop the phone and talk to someone in person [no matter how scary that sounds lol]

Yes of course. People are comparing their lives to a highlight reel on social media. People only share what they want to share.

I'm not even surprised. Facebook, a place where everyone would make there lives seem better than it actually is. Someone close to me who life revolves around facebook. Everything he does is for facebook, he would get upset over trivial things such as an imperfect photo and sulk for the rest of the day because of that photo.

Ah, I see. I'd better correct myself then. "Who knew a social media app filled with ancient assholes could be linked to people getting depression."
