If there was aliens I believe they would look different than how we view them to be... Also if they do happen to answer back we would probably all be prey. "So many people to eat" Or they might not have the urge to eat us and possibly the human race won't be wiped out, This is just what I'm thinking right now don't mind me

My guesses on the existence of aliens.

1. Aliens are so far ahead of us in terms of technology(like in the movies) they don't see a point in contacting us.
2. They are less technologically advanced than we are and that is why we have never encountered any.
3. They don't exist and nasa is just full of it.

In the words of the Python, Monty's:
"We better hope there's intelligent life out there in space, because there bugger none down here on Earth."

Don't forget the universe is really really big and and we have to deal with the lag time for the speed of light. we've only been pumping out signals for the last 100 years or so. The milky way (our galaxy) is about 120,000 ish light years across so our signals have reached a relatively small area of space in our own galaxy let alone the universe. The nearest other real galaxy is over 2.5 million light years away we better exist a few million years if we want alien senpai to notice us and come calling.

This video has a reasonably good visual showing how far our "is there anyone out there" messages have actually got.

EDIT: You can start 2 mins in to skip past the solar system.

I really hope we discover alien life in my lifetime. And I really really hope we discover intelligent alien life in my life time.

Many paradoxes though. It may not be possible to develop the means to travel across space at such magnitude to get to other habitable planets. The alien hype is real.
I can talk about aliens and science and the universe all day. Such an interesting topic.

Unless we can open worm holes or build some kind of warp-drive we won´t be able to visit any alien planet. I do think humanity will find an alien lifeform in the nearest 100 years, but no intelligent life. They must be many thousands of lightyears away. Still if thats the case, intelligent life isn´t uncommon, just think about how many stars there is in the milky way alone and then multiply it with all the hundreds of billions of galaxies in the observable universe. Most likely there is a few million intelligent spieces of alien lifeforms in the universe.

Nasa was basing this assessment on an approximation that the possibility allegedly could exist maybe.

The alleged fossilized bacteria remains became controversial because a large group of geochemists said that the alleged bacteria could have been caused by inorganic processes.

The hell? This was an actual news report from a NASA scientist. He's merely commenting on it. Shove off if you aren't going to contribute....

TO SCIENCE!

You sound mighty certain and this is far from a bullcrap topic.

The term "alien" isn't just used to classify multi-cellular organisms, you know. Even prokaryotes count as foreign life forms. Plus Europa, one of the solar bodies talked about in the article that OP posted is inside our solar systems "habitable zone", so there is definitely a chance for there to be SOMETHING there. I'd say that it's a bit of a logical fallacy to say that there is a 0% chance of us finding any sort of life on other planets.

Let's test this theory...

...this will blast you so hard of the face of the earth, you might just have a chance of discovering them.

http://content.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,2057461,00.html This was the most recent article I could find that mentions the instance I believe you're referring to. Seems there've been a number of such claims by supporters of Panspermia over the years, and most of them are later debunked or greeted with a roll of the eyes by the rest of the scientific community due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

There's a list of some other findings of supposed alien microbes (or evidence of such) on Wikipedia.
