yea, I keep running into this one guy on here who seems to call himself a "champion of justice", yet the only thing he does is tell people how evil he thinks lolis are. not to mention his definition of what a loli is is skewed pretty badly.

Yeah man when cause there is nothing sketchy and creepy about lolis at all. Especially coming from a 33 year old.

Considering that people don't even know wtf the meaning of loli is truly makes me smile. Really the word has undergone so many damned definitions since the original word started. First it was a character from a book, then a fashion statement then the porn industry got a hold of it and made it dirty and now its used to standardize any girl that looks underage... A lot like fan service has been misused for a while now, the word literally means service to the fans, not just ecchi.

When I think of loli, the only things that comes to mind is either, pedophile or pedophile.

You do realise the book were it originates from is about a man fucking his step daughter. Its not like the term started out innocent and became corrupted over time. Im not gonna pretend that im okay with lolis. I find them to be creepy and I find people who like them to be creepy.

No, it's not.

But making videos and writing articles about made-up/exaggerated "issues" while at the same time finding groups they can condemn as "enemies" is VERY harmful.

Which rarely happens. I find the majority of articles and videos people throw the "SJW" tag at are well thought out and smart.

There's going to be SJWs anywhere online. And I really don't think it's going to have much of an influence on CR, if nothing else then the fact that many of us would leave in droves. All I do is shake my head and let them play their reindeer games, wait till a boo boo needs a band aid.

Nothing pisses me off more than social justice warriors that think they are making a difference by bitching about every little thing that happens.
If social justice warriors ran the world, gaming wouldn't exist, anime wouldn't exist, and we wouldn't be allowed to talk to the opposite sex without sending a letter of intent beforehand.

My worse fears are that they will invade crunchyroll and start bitching about the fact some people find 2d children aesthetically pleasing and we are all sexists misogynists for liking 2d breasts.

I have never prayed in my entire life, but I will pray right now.. Dear kami-sama, up on high in your floaty kingdom.. please.. PLEASE... strike down the SJW and dump them into a black-hole. Every time I see social justice warriors parading around under their misinformed and nazi like form social justice, I actually contemplate putting a gun into my mouth, and pulling the bloody trigger; that is how much they vex me.

There is nothing wrong with writing factual articles about real problems (this doesn't make you a social justice warrior, it makes you a journalist). However, writing nonfactual articles slamming something that the writer has no knowledge of and is basically writing nazi propaganda about the said topic, is utterly unethical and morally incorrect (that makes you a social justice warrior)

SO what's our evidence that such an invasion is occurring. The only 'warrior' I've seen posting provocative threads lately seems to be obsessed with gays and liberals.

Maybe I haven't been paying enough attention, it's not like I live here. I'm just here for the anime.

Yes, the same way that most Nazi skins will find Mein Kampf well thought out and smart. Well thought out does not necessarily mean logically sound/reasonable.

...cuckolded inferiority complexes? I'm not even sure how that works. Does that mean you enjoy watching your inferiority complex cheat on you with another person, or does it mean your inferiority complex enjoys watching you cheat with other complexes?

More to the topic's point, I don't think there's anything particularly bad or harmful about offering well-reasoned, insightful criticisms of trends and conventions in media which may leave some groups feeling left marginal/excluded entirely or harmed, but at the same time I'm keenly aware that there's merit in the argument that art is a diverse thing with even more diverse markets, and that not every product can (or should even be expected to try to) appeal to every demographic.

If and when the topic should turn to a work, trend, or convention in art which is considered to be substantially helpful or harmful (say, manic pixie dream girls or gag boobs) I think that discussion should be considered on its individual merits, and unfortunately it seems to be the case that thoughtful criticism of well-accepted conventions, trends, and works can at times be considered "warring for social justice" when it really isn't. Sometimes a complaint about this trope or that work really does amount to little more than foaming at the mouth with little substance backing one's words, but I fear the label "social justice warrior" may be overused. With that in mind, I know very little about the Polygon community. Maybe Megaman's right, and we should be afraid. Who knows?

...really, who knows?

Actually, no. I have not. That's pretty neat. So, you won now? Gratz.

And yeah, that's what she said.
